But didn't overcome the red counties this time.
I'm a relative newbie here in NC, so I may not know some of the back story here.
But wanted to put up a short but sweet (I hope) diary. I know we took Wake county finally... and the other usual suspects, county-wise came through I think.
But next time... the tide of history and demographics are with us... Although now we have a GOP governor and legislature. NC has one of the best early voting systems in the nation. But that's going to change, we know this. The new governor has already come out in favor of changing this all for the worst.
Bev Perdue's veto of the abominable stripping of voter's rights will not hold after McCrory takes over in January
But we as a nation won the election. The inevitability of change, the demographics of the nation are changing very quickly, and even faster here in NC, and I suspect things may very well be different in 2016.
So we continue to work... Brad Miller needs to take Burr's senate seat. Yes, he mentioned that at Netroots Nation in Providence.
We got Elizabeth Warren into the senate... Miller would be a perfect complement to her reformist agenda.
I'm drinking a lot tonight ;-) Our field organizer for OFA, who happens to live close to me, did her job in exemplary fashion. I believe we have a new friend.
And the work goes on.
Four more years...
