We're pretty good at this at the presidential level. And we had a very, very good night tonight.
But we have a lot of work to do. We really are the good guys, and are fighting some really nefarious forces. However, despite vote-stealing and suppression and a conservatively-owned media, we won. This is because we have a functioning democracy, and because we can always engage the energy and the will to claim our democratic process. This year showed that when we vote and care, we win change.
We have an incredibly difficult Senate Map in 2014, as well as an opportunity to reclaim the house and do things right. The Republicans are in disarray, and out of touch, and anchored to an increasingly challenging demographic/ideological niche. We need to drive a big, fat, populist truck through that.
We need to do this, so that we never - ever - have to worry about noecons, 1%er plutocrats, dogmatic evangelicals, or just plain crazy wingnuts hijacking our country and our future again.
This is not the end of a campaign, but the beginning.
Let's take back Texas, and Arizona, and Missouri, and any other place where blue-collar americans are going to do so much better if someone fights for them and their families. Let's take back those state houses, governor's mansions, house seats, secretary of state offices. Let's take back our country.
