More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

You can add a private note to this diary when hotlisting it:

Sadly, everything Communism said about itself was a lie. Even more sadly,, everything Communism said about Capitalism was the truth.

time frames. And the emotions raging inside while my husband sat quietly, calmly surfing his favorite political sites. He has more experience in these things and wasn't phased at all.

I was sipping a bit of scotch, gnawing on fingers because I couldn't wait for the map to fill in more.

I enjoyed listening to the MSNBC team with Rachel at the helm. Kinda makes me realize how much I miss watching Rachel. Might have to break my rule of watching regular TV for her.

Thanks for this little memory book!

But the beautiful thing for me was the instant on ongoing reassurance that we were well on our way to victory.  I was holed up in a hotel room (still am) with only CNN to watch, and mostly dKos on my laptop, and even though a lot of those battleground states remained yellow for a long time, I was hearing and reading reassuring numbers about the trendlines, the bellwether counties, the turnout of the groups we needed the most.  Virginia looked the scariest of the bunch for a while, but I read here about long lines and polling stations remaining open hours after their official close.  (NC always seemed a stretch -- the 9th of 9 battlegrounds -- so while I wished for better numbers, I wasn't unnerved).  And CNN did a great job of telling, by ten minutes after the hour, what their exit polls showed.  So even though PA and WI and IA and CO and NV were yellow for some time, the exits said Don't worry.  It's not really very close.

So I found myself in the position of happy anticipation, rather than gnawing my nails in worry.  And of course, amid all this, we'd hear like fireworks popping of another great Senate victory.  Warren!  Kaine!  McCaskill!  Baldwin!  Donnelly!  Just so great.

  •  Hour by Hour Electoral Map-Thank you (0+ / 0-)

Thank you so much for the map you published before the election.   I kept it up on my computer screen last night. Whenever MR gained in electoral votes and my stomach took a dive, I ran to the computer to reassure myself that we were going to re-elect our President.

Exceptional job and I cannot express how grateful I am to have found the Daily Kos website just recently to help relieve my anxiety attacks when they were raging.

It is not good for our country to have these isolated bubbles because people feel the isolation. It was our turn to be isolated when Reagan and the two Bushes were in office and now, thanks to Limbo, Insanity and Co. that whole huge swath of the US will feel put upon and abused.

for these snapshots of the electoral count map.  My husband is in Germany for the week and missed the vote counting (though not the voting - did his absentee ballot a couple weeks ago. This post will let him see what it looked like here while he was sleeping.
