No. And that is the answer in my book. So, to all the people who thought my answer was yes, and to those who didn't (or couldn't) see that it was a question and not a statement- and therefore would say that I was stupid (which may be true) for saying so... at this point and time- America is not stupid!
However, it's not as simple as that. And not because we don't know in which direction the train is heading- whether it's been stopped, reversed, or slowed down by this election. (It's too early. We'll have to wait and see.) It's not simple because the wrestling ring is still open and we have to still pass through it every day we leave our homes- our neighbors, our co-workers, our brother-in-laws who never liked us in the first place, etc.... which leads me to... (and no, he's not my brother -in-law)
I made sure to listen to Limbaugh this morning- his opening lines and then a few minutes later on. It's clear that he's going to do everything in his power to push the train ahead. I also heard Hannity for 30 seconds. They both made it sound like it wasn't extreme conservatism that lost, it was being too nice that lost. Limbaugh actually said something like (I wrote it down, but it's in my car)- "How can you beat Santa Claus when you're your own Santa Claus (or, you have your own Santa Claus- something like that). Meaning, Romney wasn't extreme enough. It's not that important a point, but why didn't Rush know this before the election- before he picked a landslide victory. It's great that Romney lost, but 4 more years of Rush and Hannity attacking Obama like 2 pit bulls and never letting go of him... which isn't as bad if we had to see them gloat. In fact, not seeing him and others gloat is one of the reasons why the smiles on our faces will take a pretty long time to disappear.
