Really, I don't want the GOP to improve, see the light, get better, adapt, adjust, recalibrate, or anything else.
It's over. FUBAR. There's nothing left to redeem.
Why?
It's simple...Trust.
If you can't trust someone, the relationship is doomed to fail, right? It's no different with politics, as far as I'm concerned.
Now, bullshit is bipartisan, I don't deny. But when the whole foundation of a political platform is based on lies, deceit, and irreconcilable differences between what you say you stand for and what you end up representing, it graduates to another level entirely.
You guessed it... That would be the Republican Party.
But Republican citizens are another matter entirely. They can change. They can earn your trust, and they might even be able to trust you, too. Someday. It's a process, not an event.
So it's one Republican Mom, Dad, friend, or co-worker at a time. Some won't end-up changing, but some will. The tricky part is figuring who falls in the former category, and who falls in the latter. Who to "give-up" on and who's just one more little nudge away from finally "getting it."
With minimal loss of time and sanity, of course.
If you figure that out, kindly let me know how you did it. ;-)
Just had to get that off my chest. Proceed, Daily Kos.
