Big h/t to John Aravosis for this, but I have to publish my own take on in it to commpliment his good work. Aravosis just published a press release from Peter LaBarbera, the director of Americans for Truth About Homosexuality, one of the 18 anti-gay organizations that the Southern Poverty Law Center has designated a hate group. You don't get more craven than this:
No longer can pro-family advocates say that homosexual “marriage” has never been voted in by the people. Thanks to a never-ending bombardment of media-, educational- and pop-culture propaganda in favor of All Things Gay, homosexual “marriage” is now semi-popular, at least in Blue States. And there is no sugar-coating how damaging Obama’s reelection will be to this already depraved nation.
More below the Great Orange Scrunchie.
No longer can pro-family advocates say that homosexual “marriage” has never been voted in by the people. And "semi=popular"? More popular than your objections to it.
Isn't that the point, that you can't say stuff like that anymore? He first lists ALL the victories we had Tuesday night, including the fact that, beside Tammy Baldwin,
Five other open homosexuals and a bisexual atheist (Kyrsten Sinema, D-AZ) won House seats
A bisexual atheist. How special.
Who's at fault? the Republicans! Why?
Tuesday’s “gay” victories were abetted by an unofficial Republican Party strategy that eschews discussion of “social issues.” Yet even as GOP elites recoiled from the cultural battles over abortion and “gay rights,” homosexual militants pressed more aggressively than ever for their goal of using government power to force acceptance of their aberrant lifestyle.
You can feel the vitriol. Militants. Aberrant lifestyle. OOOOOOOOH!
What to do now? RATCHET IT UP.
Who are we kidding? This titanic fight has always been about homosexuality, not just “defending marriage.” We need to stop conceding the moral high ground in a fearful bid to appear “tolerant”: one pro-family group, Protect Marriage Maine, asserted that “same-sex couples are entitled to respect” – a claim at odds with historic Scriptural teaching. While Christians should respect all persons as made in God’s image, we must never “respect” behaviors and relationships grounded in sexual sin.
Never ever. Did Jesus say anything about this? Of course not. And did you know the big bad LGBT community SPENT MONEY on this? I suppose we're supposed to sit back and let bigots like LaBarbera's homophobic advertising run unopposed. You know, sin and all.
And our friends and allies?
Those committed to defending God’s wonderful design of male-female human sexuality and offering the hope of the Gospel to homosexual strugglers must not grow weary in well-doing. Shame on Christians if our commitment to defending Truth pales in comparison to the zeal of “gay” activists in defending their lies.
Even a shout-out to Peter Nicolosi and the ex-gay movement.
You know, these press releases have an entirely different feeling now that all the things NOM and the other haters have been able to count on as their main points aren't true any more. Fulminate all you want, Petey. YOU LOST this one and you're going to lose the next few actions of the Supreme Court on marriage equality. Isn't it time for you to find something else to do?
