Sorry if this gets a little platitudinous toward the end, but the election puts race in your face, and we have to figure out solutions.
So Barack Obama won again. I am proud of our country and the many millions who see the truth.
Obama's victory validates many Dem ideals. It means Obama goes from (a GOP-defined) embarrassing mistake, a blip of history, a failed social experiment that was cute and quaint but wrong-headed and an abject failure; to one of the potentially great presidents in our history. His signature legislation stays and is lauded, his agenda continues and his legacy is still in progress. This is a far cry from the presidential landfill where he would've been tossed and cemented by the GOP and Fox, buried underneath the detritus of Jimmy Carter.
I just cannot forget how many thousands (hundreds of thousands? millions?) of Americans hate President Obama because of his race alone; simply because of the circumstances of his birth (which they won't accept anyway).
Regardless of the denials and the formerly clever shelter of dogwhistles (which blast in a very low and audible frequency since 2008), there is no mystery: not only does a percentage of the GOP hate Barack Obama for his race, they also hate us: All progressives. Possibly the more forgiving among them only hate the blacks and the semitic among us. Those with even more forgiveness perhaps only hate the black folks, and give the rest of us a pass. How nice of them. Regardless, their mindset endures, and is steeped in nothing but generations of ignorance, misinformation, distrust, power, and hate!
Post-racial Amurrkah? The GOP heads of the Senate and House, McConnell and Boehner, did not accept President Obama's phone calls the night of his re-election.
The real takeaway from these ridiculous reactions to President Obama is that the same irrational people who hate him, hate us too. And they are not changing anytime soon. In fact, they are only going to steel themselves and get worse! This is because their beef is not one of economics or philosophy or style of governance. Their beef is not one of intellectuality or even rationaility. Their beef makes no sense, and cannot be reasoned with, or reasoned out.
All we can do in the face of this, is to continue to be ourselves, govern the way we believe in our hearts and souls...and hope that the ignorant (relative) few among us don't have children. And if they do, we can pray for their children...and educate them.
I want to thank everyone on here who bought The Antidote to Ayn Rand, Aldus Shrugged. ALL ROYALTIES were donated to help President Obama and Dems in contentious downballot races.
Clicking here will get you a great book, which tears new orifices in Ayn Rand and her "philosophy", and the entire GOP and Fox News too! (They were in need of new orifices).
