In four years, after the following things HAVE occurred:  ending our involvement in Afghanistan, millions of more Americans having access to healthcare, economy in much better shape, improvement to our infrastructure, some meaningful progress on climate change;

and the following things have NOT occurred:  a communist/socialist economic system, takeover by the UN, confiscation of everyone's guns, FEMA concentration camps, loss of freedom to practice religion or criticize the government, death panels, imposition of Sharia law, destruction of our way of life--

I'd like to hear an acknowledgment from those who were predicting such things that they were wrong.  An apology to Obama and everyone who voted for him would be even better, but I'd settle for a simple acknowledgement.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

    hold my breath if I were you... this is the same crew who predicted utter economic disaster when Clinton's economic program passed in '93. They have never acknowledged the boom that followed his raising taxes on the wealthy. Why would this time be any different?

    combined terms of the Nixon-Ford term, GHW Bush, and 2 terms of GW Bush.

    Let me know if you can find the apology for running Carter out of office over his bad economy.

  •  By 2016, they'll have forgotten all about Obama. (1+ / 0-)

    They'll be flinging their monkey turds at the new Democratic nominee. If it's Hillary, they'll just shift their rhetoric from racist to sexist, and everything else will stay the same. When your engagement with contemporary events is perfunctory, opportunistic, shallow, and amnesiac, it's easy to make superficial changes. Today's isolationist deficit hawk is tomorrow's spendthrift saber-rattler. Today's border-patrolling racist is tomorrow's colorblind free-trader. The right-wing is capable of any metamorphosis in the course of its fundamental mission: the consolidation of privilege by means of acrimonious division. Everything else is a circumstantial detail.
