Sorry that this is a bit of a 're-post' of a diary I posted while most of you were sleeping, but I feel very strongly about this issue and hope to get more eyes on it!
The United Nations has declared today to be 'Malala Day' to mark the 30th day since 14-year-old Malala Yousafzai was shot in the head by the Taliban in Pakistan for her efforts to ensure that young girls have the right to go to school.
Use the hashtag #IamMalala today to help spread awareness of the global crisis in girls' education.
If you want to know more, click the above link to my earlier diary.
The words "I am Malala" are not only a defiant challenge to the Taliban but a bold assertion that every single girl and boy should have the chance of an education.
