When will this crap end? Such naked petiness. Or maybe it's some kind of stubborn idealogical Charge of the Light Brigade. "Hold your memes/guns until they are wrested from your dead hands." or something. Whichever, it sure looks really really stupid to the majority of Americans.

Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) promised to block anyone President Obama appointed to lead the Department of State — especially current U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice — if they were at all involved with the handling of the attack on the U.S. Embassy in Benghazi, Libya. Speaking on CBS’ Face the Nation, Graham called the consulate “a death trap for months” and suggested he would prevent anyone involved in the Administration’s response to the attack from taking the top job at State:
GRAHAM: I do reserve unto myself and other members of congress the ability to say no when justified. I cannot imagine promoting anybody associated with Benghazi at this point. …
SCHIEFFER: Well, I mean, would you try to lead a move to block her [Ambassador Rice] from getting the nomination if in fact she is nominated?
GRAHAM: I’m not entertaining promoting anybody that I think was involved with Benghazi debacle.
Wanton belligerence, just like his boss Mitch McConnell, and the overwhelming majority of his colleagues in the "Grand Old Party". It's just plain ugly as sin for the Republican brand at large. It's strange to me but they don't seem to be caring how ugly they look, or Americans' opinion on their appearance. On Tuesday I heard the majority of Americans crying out in disgust and frustration at the extremism, obstrutionism and general dickishness of the Republican Party. I heard them laughing absurdist laughter at memes like "Benghazi debacle" and the politicians and "news" organizations that parrot them; and yet I fancied our laughter was tinged with hope, that such nonsense would at least be dialed-back.
But they either aren't listening or aren't giving a damn, to our continuing chagrin. What have they learned? Nothing.
