Did an earlier diary about an 'occupy' by some elites, bet not a one had that (R) that they still insist on using, and everyone lets em get away with that, after their names, on NOLA's sidewalks last night for reflection and charity.

Well we get more from same area and state but about the already outta the gate for the 2016 Presidency, damn we just done the last one, from Melissa Harris-Perry, while them contenders are already linin up and the congressional teabags are looking for any excuse to start 'impeachment' proceedings at the President we just rehired, or at least that's the way it looks as they make total fools of themselves, again.

Dear Gov. Bobby Jindal … it’s me, Melissa.

She do great letter writin, many great points:

11/17/2012 - A lot of letters are being sent and received in my home state of Louisiana this week.

Bruce Greenstein, our state’s secretary of health, sent a letter to Washington on Wednesday on behalf of his boss, Gov. Bobby Jindal, refusing to set up a a state-run insurance exchange required by the Affordable Care Act. New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu wrote Jindal and Greenstein the next day reminding them of the critical health needs in our state and urging them to reconsider their position. Then Friday, the editors of the typically conservative New Orleans Times-Picayune weighed in with a letter to their readers stating very clearly, “Gov. Jindal is ignoring his people’s needs.”
I decided to get in on this one and address my letter this week to Gov. Jindal. visit to read the letter>>>

Looks like game on and I just got used to ads about products, thank god the lousy rove ads are gone, back to way to many!!

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

  •  This shameful Indophobic racism/bigotry by MHP: (0+ / 0-)
Dear Gov. Bobby Jindal … it’s me, Melissa.

Mind if I call you by your given name, Piyush? No? You prefer “Bobby”? OK.

    Bobby,...

She ought to be ashamed of herself for such an amazing display of Indophobic race baiting. It's one thing for some anonymous blogger dude to engage in this sort of thing (it still counts as lowly/low-life conduct and becomes part of that blogger's karma, if you will), but it's a whole other story when someone speaking from an elevated perch such as MHP starts doing it.

To see why it's racism/race-baiting/otherism, you only need to consider some columnist/TV-show host from the right writing an open letter to Obama, presenting on his TV show and posting at the channel's site, and opening that letter with:

Dear President Obama … it’s me, XYZ.

Mind if I call you by your full given name along with middle name, Barack Hussein? No? You prefer just “Barack”? OK.

    Barack,...

They would be run out of town (namely, the sphere of acceptable public discourse) in a matter of a few hours.

And rightly so. And, furthermore it'd be immaterial whether the arguments in the letter hold merit or not, due to the blemish of bigotry.

By the same principle, MHP should be condemned for this blatant display of racism/race-baiting/otherism against an Indian-American minority politician and made to apologize. If she refuses to apologize, she should be "run out of town" (i.e. from the sphere of acceptable public discourse) as well (starting with MSNBC putting her show on ice.) If someone here disagrees with that proposition, I'd like to hear why.

Needless to say, criticism should be centered on the issues, as well as the record and positions of politicians and potential candidates for office. Otherism and other worse forms of bigotry have no place in the town square or civil discourse.

ps: Just noted that this diary has been tagged as "Booby Jindal"; the intellectual level at which someone operates when engaging in such silly name-calling is lower than that of a 4 year old child, and it's clearly beneath the standards of a good site/community like the DK and its participant members. Shame.

For showing the level you exist on and even putting it into your own words!!!!

    •  She was making a point: (0+ / 0-)

that he's "whitened" his name.  Surely you can understand that this is an insult to his heritage?
