In October I posted NaNoWriMo, or Why You really Need to Vote. In that post I explained that the success or failure of my attempt to reach 50,000 words at the end of National Novel Writing Month hinged on whether or not Obama would be re-elected for a second term.
Then on November 8 posted NaNoWriMo: Obama won, and now I must as well, where I acknowledged that since you all did your part, and Obama was elected to a second term, I was obligated to reach 50,000 words by the end of November.
So today I'm pleased to report that on Tuesday morning, November 27, I formally validated my word count at 50,041--which places me in the winner's circle for NaNoWriMo. I now have the purple word count bar. So I want to take this moment to thank the Daily Kos for going to all the trouble to re-elect Obama so I could make my 50K goal. I'm sure there was no other reason for all your hard work.
...
... um, yeah, so anyway. For those who are curious, it is a very, very skeletal draft of something that will need to be fleshed out and filled in and rewritten and polished and rewritten and finessed and rewritten and did I mention I might have to rewrite it a few times before it becomes what I ultimately intend it to be, which is the sequel to my first novel. But it has a beginning, a middle, and an end, which is what I'm told are rather essential elements.
Thanks again dKos! Hope your NaNoing (for those of you who are NaNoing) is going well!
