NEWS UPDATE: I just attended press conference certifying Arizona State Election results (Canvas):
Press asked why but told Sec. of State Ken Bennett would be standing in for the governor. Why is the governor afraid to sign her name onto the election results?
hmm....oh yeah...VOTER SUPPRESSION !!!! Bennett essentially said everything was hunk dory (surprise, surprise) more news and my eye witness details on this later.

In attendance were the Az. Sec. of State Ken Bennett, assistant sec. of state elections, director of elections, department, attorney general Thom Horne. When asked why extremist Az. governor Jan Brewer was not there, Mr. Bennett stated that she had put out that she would not be there and did not know why she wasn't there.  When asked if he were the acting governor and would sign for her he stated that was.

Bennet was also asked if Brewer could run again for governor, he replied that she and he were both "term limited". One of the reporters jokingly stated and yes...that's coming from you a politician who has an exploratory committee.
Will fill in more details and produce a youtube on all of the interesting things that occured with this state canvas board later.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
