I am in Detroit, Michigan. Well, in the suburbs. I am, admittedly, a right of center, blogger and person.
But, I do not support "Right to Work"
So, I am asking everyone, to do, in the fashion of the freepers, who most likely freeped this poll. To Kos this poll in the right direction.
For the record: I think, even as a right of center, that this change in direction was a complete flipping' boneheaded move by Snyder. Why? Because it is simply overreach. For this, I predict that Snyder and the Republicans will pay a horrible price for this stunt. This is not Wisconsin, this is not Ohio; this is Michigan and the organized labor movement was born here.
There is another reason: My Dad.
My Father put in 31 years with General Motors. He worked his ass off for those people, the UAW stood behind him, think and thin; through bosses who tried to get him fired, through layoffs and sickness. The prosperity that my parents have enjoyed was in part due to what the UAW fought for.
I will concede one thing; The UAW has not really done anything for me personally. However, to be fair, I never really expected anything from them. As I never worked in a plant that they represented, other than a screw machine shop once.
...and now, Rick Snyder has decided to try and take that away. That my friends, even as much as I disagree with the current direction of the Democratic Party --- is a one damned bridge too far.
I will not be voting for this Republican Governor again, I can assure you of that. I am quite pissed at Governor Snyder and I hope like hell that he reconsiders this; you just don't do this in Michigan, and he has chosen a path of extremism. One that will cost him his reelection, at least with this voter anyway.
Now, before anyone hollers "Troll!" I can assure you, that I am not a troll at all. My blog is here. I might not be in 100% agreement with you on everything. But, this; I am afraid I have to side with you all. This overreach was wrong; and when family is involved, I leave my frustration with Democratic Party at the door. Family first, partisanship second. Hopefully, someone in this crowd of progressives gets that. I love my family, more than I love any damned political party.
I am not begging for traffic, in fact, I don't give flying flip if you even follow the link. I simply wanted to come make my feelings know to those who do understand.
Thanks for letting vent here.

P.S. It's not about partisanship, at least not with me. It is about my family and the Americans who live in this state and right now, my parents and many like them and getting screwed by people who see them as leeches; and that my friends is immoral.
