Streaming the Bill 'Moyers and Company' show that aired last night, went to bed early so didn't catch the airing on our local PBS station. He has, again, a couple of great discussions that any who missed might want to catch, sensible speak, along with one of an action discussed here but is getting very little coverage elsewhere as it should and needs the public involvement to stop once again.

Follow below as I bring the second stream, reason for subject title, first. Then follow with the call for action by the populace.

Mickey Edwards on How Conservatives Have Lost Their Way

December 7, 2012 - Bill is joined by former Republican Congressman Mickey Edwards, a founding father of modern conservative politics who now fears the movement has abandoned its principles. Edwards explains why both political parties require radical change, and shares his perspective on Grover Norquist and anti-tax pledges. “It’s not conservatism, not rational, not adult,” Edwards tells Bill. ” It’s a 12-year-old’s kind of thinking.”  read more>>> * * * Full Transcript>>>

In the lead online segment Bill has a discussion with Sen Bernie Sanders about a coming FCC ruling, we went down this road already and not long ago, and what Bernie is planing as he puts out the call also for the public to get more involved, again.
Bernie Sanders on Why Big Media Shouldn’t Get Bigger

December 7, 2012 - In 1983, 50 corporations controlled a majority of American media. Now that number is six. And Big Media may get even bigger, thanks to the FCC’s consideration of ending a rule preventing companies from owning a newspaper and radio and TV stations in the same big city. Such a move — which they’ve tried in 2003 and 2007 as well –would give these massive media companies free rein to devour more of the competition, control the public message, and also limit diversity across the media landscape. On this week’s Moyers & Company (check local listings), Senator Bernie Sanders, one of several Senators who have written FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski asking him to suspend the plan, joins Bill to discuss why Big Media is a threat to democracy and what citizens can do to fight back. read more>>> * * * Full Transcript>>>

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
