My comment after another Sunday morning of frustration listening to "This Week with George Stephanopoulos." Please consider a couple suggestions for your Sunday talk show:
1) Can't you find a way to include comments by "citizens," instead of just "power players," "talking heads." and millionaire pundits, most of whom are representing a political ideology? After all, WE are who elect OUR President, and inevitably WE are most affected by the issues being discussed by the ideologues, yet WE haven't riden in a limousine since our prom days. About the only time WE get any attention is on the occasional voters' panel every four years. Maybe it's time your "experts" from the 2% listened to US from the 98%, instead of vice versa. You could have a citizens panel segment once a month and I think it would be a big hit.
2) As much as this veteran appreciates recognition of those military who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for all of us in front of and behind the cameras, couldn't it be better presented than as an afterthought of about 1.5 seconds per sacrifice, that runs like part of the closing credits? If you really want to have a sobering impact and due respect for what these people have done, why not run your tribute at the beginning of the broadcast, and allow for at least 30 seconds of precious broadcast time for reflection. THAT might truly remind people of the appropriate context of the week's "issues" to follow.
