We need to talk about this issue before any deal is struck by the White House and let them know how we feel about it. David Johnston makes really good points in the video on why we should be calling the White House on this one!

I don't claim to know all the facts but David Johnston seems to make some really cogent points about the issue, but the GOP and the White House have both been discussing raising the age for Medicare.
The problem is that this strategy offers minimal savings to the government, but doubles the health care costs to seniors between the ages of 65 and 67 who will have to buy it from private insurance companies.
It seems to me that if you want to reduce Medicare costs you should actually drop the age lower so more younger people, who are healthier and have fewer illnesses can pay into the fund.
That is how insurance pools stay solvent, by spreading the risks... not narrowing them to the very old and sick.
Any one who wishes to weigh in on the issue with useful information... please do!!!
