So said my wife to me just a couple of hours ago.
I wish she was sick of Lock Up or Caught on Camera, but of course we never watch that garbage. I wish it was on. I would watch it 24 hours a day to keep the special coverage of mass killings off the air. To keep this coverage from happening.
This time it was especially heinous. Unspeakably-to-another-level heinous. Other countries sobbing for us. First responders breaking down, in counseling. Even among the scary stuff in nyc, this news is unprecedented.
I would it was so easy to stop this coverage....stop the killing.
I apologize if this doesn't warrant a diary, but most of us know the inside joke of the msnbc weekend programming, and somehow my wife's comment hit home with me.
I don't know what most people mean when they say things like "my thoughts and prayers are with them". I mean, I can guess, but nobody really says. It's real personal. I don't mind saying, since Friday my prayers are very teary and only full of requests for the victims. I just can't think of anything else, when I start praying.
Peace.
