I had seen my name on the list yesterday. And after searching it down discovered that the wonderful Aji had added me to a list of people she thought deserved a gift subscription. I was flattered and felt honored. But I kind of fly under the radar here at kos mostly.

So I didn't think it would happen really.

I have been kind of quiet lately, things have not been going exactly as they should. Been having a private pity party here on my couch. Got a second or two? Got some cheese for my whine?

In November I had a small event they have called a heart attack. I felt kind of wonky while at work, tightness in my chest and back and pain down my arms.
Went to the hospital and was feeling much better by then, but stayed for the bloodwork.
EKG was normal.

6 hours later the bloodwork showed I had had a heart related event of some sort. So they kept me in until an angiogram was arranged in the city.
We have a big hospital that is a world recognized leader in matters of the Heart, as it were.
So they shipped me over and did that procedure.
My heart was pretty fine apparently. "pristine" said the specialist. Some kind of "spontaneous dissection" showed up however.

Freak of nature, orpossibly some rare condition?
I'm speshul. Can't have a run of the mill heart attack. Hell no.

But things didn't go as they should with the angiogram itself. I developed a pseudo aneurism in the femoral artery, and they gave me a massive DVT in my leg. They warn you about some of these complications beforehand, but blow it off at the same time. The DVT was life threatening apparently. I now have to take blood thinners for a good while. I'll be careful with knives.

Been a bad month. I cannot walk very well. Very painful . Lots of anger. Lots of fear. Three times in hospital, and my little girls are struggling with it.
My husband, my rock, has been carrying the whole load. The kids, the house, work, my medical emergencies and blood tests and repeated ultrasounds. I got a good one. He hasn't run away screaming yet.

Very expensive. The healthcare portion is paid for, because I live in Canada. The wages and other things not so much. Waiting on EI ATM.
Not alone in that am I? It's December during the worst global economic crisis in decades.
I am actually lucky that we wont have thousands of dollars to pay back. My local community has been helping with childcare. I love these people.

So. Someone purchased a subscription, for me.
Laying on my couch watching tee vee shows on the PC between hospital visits and tests for the last month feeling mighty sorry for myself, Me.

Thank you anonymous benefactor. You made me feel wanted. And for that. I am extremely grateful.

Blessed be.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
