By the skillful and sustained use of propaganda, one can make a people see even heaven as hell or an extremely wretched life as paradise.  -Hitler

When God desires to destroy a thing, he entrusts its destruction to the thing itself. Every bad institution of this world ends by suicide.   -Victor Hugo

Fascism is Capitalism in decay.  –Lenin

Destructive debt ceiling threats, tax breaks for the rich, immigration policy, women’s rights, rape, pregnancy, gay rights, global climate change, evolution and other sciences, Medicare, Social Security, stimulus for job creation, bellicose international exceptionalism, blatant lies…

… and all of the hate and fear-mongering so spewed forth by that bigoted bunch of Foxnation fascists to our brainwashed masses of blooming idiots; masses that have somehow been convinced that collective national suicide… is what’s best for the country.  -And these fools don’t even realize that they’re killing themselves, and us along with them.

Yea, they’ve not only bought into the Fox program, they’ve been convinced that they are doing the right thing to save our nation- all the while contributing to its destruction- and all with an immeasurable motherlode of hate and bigotry.

This is no longer two political parties vying for votes based on different policies, policies grounded in truth and fact. No, those days are gone: What we are witnessing now is ruthless class warfare, American style.

Sixty-four year old retiree Rufus Smith is pissed. His pension has been cut, his house has lost 40% of its value, Medicare’s qualifying age has been extended, his Social Security might be privatized, terrorist immigrants spread heathen religions and are taking over the country, immoral, evil women want abortions, gays are taking over school and government, his grandson attends a school with an average 52 to 1 student/teacher ratio, his son’s unemployment has been cut, the United Nations is an evil borne of Satan, global climate change is a myth, and evolution goes against everything Jesus-

And Rufus Smith just sits there in his worn armchair watching Sean Hannity, all the while sucking down another Budweiser.
And Rufus Smith’s pissed-ness is growing: All those liberals and commies are out to destroy his great America.

And how does he know this? Because Fox keeps him ‘enlightened’ as to what’s really going on.

See, Rufus Smith is a bigoted, dumb shit.
And Rufus is just one of many dumb shits.

And if any one is out to destroy our great America, it is our masses of beer-bellied, indoctrinated dumb shits that tune-in to Fox every night, all the while their Betty-Sue wives across the hinterland clean the kitchens and stay in ‘their place.’
And family speaking, dumb shit Rufus is proud of his son Billy, now that he joins him in the living room to watch Fox News with all the hate and venom that permeates this house of American horror… you know, since Billy lost his own home to foreclosure and all; Billy and Darlene and their two sons now sleep in the spare bedroom.
And most frightening, Rufus, Billy and their ilk are not only being taught intolerance and hate; worse, they are being taught that they are God-ordained patriots saving the country. And that is why they are destructive, traitorous dumb shits.

Here we go…

It is unfathomable (and unprecedented until recently) for a political party to devastate the nation’s economy by using our debt ceiling as a negotiating tool- and damage our national credit rating in the process… Unfathomable that any country, any political system would ever engage in such collective self-immolation. And Rufus? If Fox says we should be obsessed with debt and protect the Bush tax cuts, then so be it.

The share of the nation's wealth held by the less affluent half (50%) of American households dropped precipitously after the financial crisis, to 1.1 percent, according to new calculations by Congress's nonpartisan research service. By contrast, the share of total net worth held by the wealthiest 1 percent of American households continued rising, hitting 34.5 percent in 2010. The top 10 percent's share was 74.5 percent. Average American family had net worth drop 40% from 2007-2010. From 2009-2010, the top 1% earners captured 93 percent of the income growth. And what do these plutocrats pay in taxes? Usually between 15 and 19%. Yea, but Rufus is too busy with all the other stuff on Fox to ponder this stuff, much less to even know of such things.

Immigration? Question: Rufus, who’s going to pay into the system, the very system that provides your Medicare, Social Security, and other entitlements for the aged- if demographically, our country doesn’t have an adequate working population? Dude, go visit Italy, or worse, Japan. Or, just sit fat and stupid in your stained, torn faux leather armchair and catch a little O’Reilly.

Women’s rights? Not a problem for you dickwad: Just keep Betty-Sue ‘in line’ and all is right with the world.

Gays? Yea, hold fast to your belief that they are subhuman and should be corralled in Gitmo style camps. But then again, maybe there is more to it as to why you hate them so much… eh Rufus? Ye doth protest too much… way too much.

Global warming? Keep denying it… all the while the Maldives and other islands sort of disappear, snow don’t come and bugs don’t die, your grandson had Dengue, your daughter-in-law has Melanoma, and your air conditioning is no longer affordable on those hot December nights.

Other science issues? Yea, the Earth is 9,000 years old, Darwin was a gay communist, and women’s bodies protect them from rape pregnancy.
Medicare? Nice time for those pinkos to take it away, now that you are becoming a bitter, sick, old fart. There are still assholes out there that want a ‘voucher system’ … you know, sorta like Betty-Sue’s coupons, except they are for things like arteriograms.
Social Security? There are still Fox-following fools like you that favor privatization. Good idea says Hannity.   -Ugh Rufus, what would have happened to your Social Security if Bush had succeeded in privatizing it prior to the 2007-2008 crash? Dumb shit.

Jobs? Yea, thanks for placing deficit reduction above the masses of people that are unemployed and hungry… like the guy that used to live next door. Stimulus? Nah. Let’s be austere like our European friends, fix us right up. Bill O says so.
Other countries? Yea, we should be afraid, every fucking night, anywhere our Dodge Ram takes us: There are terrorists out there, North Koreans, commies, gay rapists, serial killers… and we had better go put those Iranians in their place. We won Iraq; conquering those Persians should be a cakewalk.

Truth and lies? Dude, you are part of a political group that espouses their own denial of verified facts and figures, that even publically disavows their adherence to ‘Fact Checkers.’ And you know why they were so shocked when Romney lost? Because they started to believe their own shit- they actually began believing the lies that they’d been putting on dumb shits like you. Wow.

And us?
And us?

Yea, it’s past time that we become the aggressors, if only to save our country from extinction. And it’s past time that we call Fox to their reckoning, in any way possible… Any… because they are the enemy to our democracy and every principle our Founding Fathers stood for.

This is now a class war…  And if Fox calls it that, of course they will add that it began and is perpetuated by evil liberal progressives. Why? Because that is what they do.

To be curt, I’m sick of this shit. Outraged.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

perhaps because it is attractive to people who don't see well. Whether they are actually or metaphorically blind, it is likely that there is a correlation between the 30% of American adults who have been determined by studies to be functionally illiterate and the people who tune into FOX TV--radio with pictures. The audience wants to be told stories. It doesn't really matter whether the stories are true because, by and large, if they are lacking insight, or the ability to compare various inputs, accuracy is outside their purview.

Or, let me put it another way. If a person sits in a temperature controlled environment, he doesn't notice or care what the external environmental condition is. If a person can't SEE, he doesn't care what's to be seen.

Do some people suffer from sensory deprivations other than the obvious ones?  I suspect so.  What senses?

    sense of time
    sense of place
    sense of order
    sense of sequence
    sense of direction
    sense of distance
    sense of circumstance
    sense of connection
    sense of rhythm

I even suspect that these sensory deficits are somehow connected to the sense of touch. Which would account for the common perception that the clueless are "out of touch."
They cannot properly connect with the material world because their tactile senses are dull or even non-existent.
