This will be short...
I heard sirens close by last night, and now I know why. Just a couple blocks away from my house:
Police say a 30-year-old man from Seattle has been killed and another man wounded in a shooting at a crowded bar in Bellevue, Wash., east of Seattle.
Officer Carla Iafrate says the shooting broke out just after 1 a.m. Monday at Munchbar in the Bellevue Square shopping center. More than 600 people were inside the bar at the time of the shooting.
[...]
Witnesses described a chaotic scene, telling local media they dove for cover as gunfire erupted.
This doesn't happen very often here. In fact, from 1999 - 2010, there were
seven murders. I couldn't find data for 2011, but 2012 was projected to be one prior to last night's incident. This prior murder didn't involve a gun, if I recall correctly. So that's two murders here for the year...
And yet another gun-related one to add to the body count for the nation.
Are these post-Sandy Hook gun-related deaths a spate? Or is it just the media paying more attention, and if so, will it last, or fade-off when something more "trendy" comes along to catch the media's attention?
. . .
Hat tip to @Gundeaths on Twitter for calling my attention to the AP article.

8:35 PM PT: The suspect has been identified, as Orcas George in the comments notes, it was one of the guys who killed Tuba Man. How this guy was ever released from jail is beyond me.
Ja’mari Alexander Alan Jones is still on the loose, driving a White Nissan Maxima, Washington State license plate #AHZ1672.
