The only way the so-called fiscal cliff crisis is going to be solved is if John Bonehead, Eric Rantor and other GOP clowns get up off their knees and stop prostrating themselves before the throne of Grover Norquist.

Bound and determined to protect their millionaire masters, the Republicans would sooner crash the economy than try to save it. John Bonehead had a choice to make. Either save his Speakership or save the country. It's clear what choice he made.

The GOP needs to stop kissing Norquist's butt and start kicking it. This guy has done more to wreck America's economy than just about anyone else. These politicians were elected to serve their constituents, not be subservient to some unelected clown. It's pretty sad when these Rep.’s and Senators have to go, hat in hand, and ask Norquist "how do you want me to vote on this bill or that bill?"

Another group of clowns bent on destroying the recovery rather than defending it is Sarah Failin' and the Tea Party. Composed of racists, sexists fascists and extremists, they too have made sure that any progressive laws or ideas must be squashed quickly. The GOP, in its infinite stupidity, thought they could co-opt the group and use them for their own ends. As what usually happens, the Tea Party took over the GOP and is now running it right, or rather, far right into the ground, so much so that you may as well call it the Teapublican Party.

The Tea Party is a bizarre group of extremists, more interested in maintaining purity of ideology than actually making any laws. A number of them have gone to Washington with the express purpose to wreck the government. Some have said they didn't care if they got re-elected. When was the last time you heard a politician say that? When was the first time you heard that? Grover Norquist said he wanted to shrink the gov't so much that he could drown it in a bathtub. Wonderful, now he wants to murder Uncle Sam. And this is the party that controls the GOP? They are not just the lunatic fringe; they are the fringe on the lunatic fringe.

Poor John Bonehead. Like Rodney Dangerfield, he gets no respect. His disastrous Plan B was such a loser. What sane person would even propose such nonsense, much less try to make it law? If the country goes over the cliff-and I believe it will-the scorn and abuse that will rain down on Republican heads will be incredulous.

The Tea Party needs to be destroyed. This is only way to save America, save the economy and save the people. The sooner we can bring about the destruction of them, the sooner we can have the country back.

Judy Collins had it right "send in the clowns...don't bother, they're here."

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

..why Democrats & liberals believe this:

If the country goes over the cliff-and I believe it will-the scorn and abuse that will rain down on Republican heads will be incredulous.
Republicans have a multi-billion dollar propaganda machine at their disposal (ie, the American corporate media).

Outside of liberal blogs & MSNBC,  Republicans will not be blamed for anything.

They'll have their spin ready come midnight of Dec. 31st.

They'll issue their talking points to the media outlets, the newspapers & to their right wing army of bloggers.

If the "fiscal cliff" thing happens, by Jan. 3rd everybody will be asking why Obama can't lead.  And why didn't Obama have a plan.  And look at Obama, just as we suspected, he's a divisive figure.  And we always knew Obama was a horrible negotiator, but this takes the cake.

Republicans will not get blamed for shit.

    They never are.

This time the Republicans are hog-tied with an apple placed in their mouths.  ready for serving up.  They are very much caught in a box that has only one exit. They have 2 choices, capitulate or continue the painful political humiliation. Its their choice.

Life is not a problem to be solved but an adventure to be experienced.

"John Bonehead," "Eric Rantor," "Sarah Failin'" types of name-mangling add about as much impact as "libtards," "Democrap's" and "Obummers" do.

I don't like the people you mention in your diary either, but denigrating them in such a way may be a good for frustration release, but that's about it.

    FWIW.
