It is a simple code modification for DailyKos omit displaying the “Subscribe or Donate now” banner when a user who is a subscriber logs onto the site. I subscribed a few days after I first saw the offer.
I understand DailyKos’ need for revenue; however, the gift giving season is over.
If DailyKos wants to solicit subscribers for donations and gift subscriptions more effectively, Kit Yarrow and Jayne O’Donnell noted in Gen BuY that periodic and not constant sales pitches are the most effective to Gen Y. Gen BuY dealt with the buying patterns of Generation Y, the Millennial Generation. Gen Y members were born during the period from the late 1970s through 1999.
I suspect most of DailyKos’ followers are members of Generation Y.
