News outlets are reporting Hillary Clinton has been admitted to New York Presbyterian Hospital and is being treated for a blood clot related to her concussion sustained during a fall due to dehydration. She is being treated with anti coagulants and will remain hospitalized for observation during her treatment for the next 48 hours.
The State Department has issued a press release. There has not been any comment from the White House as of yet. Details are still forthcoming and I will update this diary as more information becomes available.
Obviously our thoughts are with Hillary and her family at this time.
Update#1: From the State Department
Philippe Reines, a State Department senior advisor, said in the statement that the clot stems from a concussion she sustained several weeks ago. Reines said Clinton is being treated with anti-coagulants at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. She will be monitored there for the next 48 hours, he said. “Her doctors will continue to assess her condition, including other issues associated with her concussion," he said. "They will determine if any further action is required.”
