The term "reality distortion field" has been used liberally in the past to refer to the late Steve Jobs' keynote addresses at the annual Macworld convention in San Francisco.
However, after having tuned in to the Senate on C-SPAN2, I have decided to honor this channel with that title, as it is heavily appropriate today. More after the orange Kozdoodle
Almost ALL of the reality distortion field emanating from the Senate is coming from the mouths of GOP senators - Thune, Corker, McCain, Isaakson...
Extemporaneous comments from these senators clearly indicate exactly how out of touch they all are with the REAL reason our nation is facing the crisis we currently face.
They have all conveniently forgotten that it was THEIR party who enacted the disastrous financial policies, involved the US in two unpaid-for wars, and gave unprecedented tax breaks to the wealthy.
If I hear "we have a spending problem" one more time, without someone in the GOP adding "that WE created" I think I am going to scream.
GOP intransigence in solving the very problem that THEY created is ludicrous, and is only exceeded by the disingenuous manner in which they conveniently forget to acknowledge these problems are of THEIR making.
Sorry - I realize this is short diary, but I'm frankly totally FED UP with the way the GOP is trying to blame the Democrats for the Republicans fiscal follies and financial policy failures.
Hopefully, 2013 will bring us LESS GOP insanity, and put us closer to a Congress that actually works to resolve the problems faced by ordinar citizens.
Happy New Year to you all, and many thanks for the many great diaries this year.
