The Democrats look so much better than the Republicans on policy, but with results like the "fiscal cliff" crap, it's clear that they work together in a good cop/bad cop dynamic to screw us over.
The Republicans can take any extremist position they like, trying to end all of the New Deal, removing any obstacles to corporations doing whatever they want, and making sure the rich pay little in taxes.
Then the Dems can come in as the "good cop" and say, "These nasty Republicans want to make things terrible for you. We're much more reasonable-- we'll only do those Republican things half as much, so you should support us." Meanwhile, the rich get richer, the poor get poorer, and the New Deal is slowly shredded.
I just can't believe that any progress can be made in the two-party system anymore. The "fiscal cliff" negotiations have resulted in keeping the vast majority of the Dubya tax cuts, guaranteeing deficits indefinitely, which gives the banksters ever more control over our entire economy.
Can we get the Occupy movement heated up again? Short of "class war" I no longer have any hope of improvement.
