Today, I'm exhausted from the holidays and all this fiasco called fiscal cliff. So I'm going to make this short and sweet. Although I was an advocate for going over the fiscal cliff, I have to give the Dems their due thanks and congratulations.
Why? Because they did a deal without touching entitlements. That means they are listening to the people and care about their jobs. In my mind, that's an improvement.
Now I'm not saying a deal on entitlements can't be done. It just has to be done in the same way that health care was done, as a single issue and not some clever device to be tucked away in a deal that no one even reads. If it's done that way, with debate and transparency, modifications to entitlements can be done. But any Dem that allows the GOP to change Social Security or Medicare/Medicaid as some part of a grand scheme or some bargain on the debt limit and they do so at their own peril.
I wrote about this several weeks ago and glad to see that someone is paying attention.
