I understand people's frustration with Obama and the Democrats on the way they handled the "Fiscal Cliff" negotiations. But I don't see any way in hell that Obama bending on the income threshold for taxes going up should be enough for people to say they'll sit out 2014, that is pure insanity. Yet I have seen at least a few comments to that effect over the last week. The Democrats, by and large, SUCK!, I get it. Most of them, including Obama, would be considered moderate conservatives just a decade ago. But the current extremist Republican party has pulled this country so far right that we cannot hold this moral high-mindedness and refuse to vote for the lesser of two evils! First and foremost, the Republican party needs to be relegated to a true regional minority if they don't change their ways quickly (we all know that isn't happening!). Nothing productive is going to happen otherwise. Liberals need to understand that with Republicans in control of the House, no legislation is going to be liked by any of us. However, you can hardly expect Obama to just stick to a line in the sand and pass nothing while the country suffers. He'll keep trying to get a little by sacrificing a lot. It's a terrible game but it's the only way he sees to help struggling Americans even a little bit. Given the current state of affairs in Washington, real Progressive legislation is NOT POSSIBLE for at least the next two years and won't be possible after that if Progressives get all butt-hurt and skip out on the mid-term elections. You cannot let your disappointment in Obama make you forget just how evil and extreme the Republican party is. WE CANNOT HAVE A REPEAT OF 2010 !!!!
