I haven't made very many new things the past couple of weeks...I have used my youngest daughter's time off from school to teach her to crochet.
Meet me below the orange umber yarn tangle...
My youngest daughter is eleven... and not very patient. I had taught her older sisters to crochet much earlier than eleven. This break from school, she decided that she R E A L L Y wanted to learn, and I had some time off from work. So, we started with chaining...
And we argued for about 30 minutes... until I figured out that the only way to do this would be "knee to knee" with her facing me.
Maddie is left handed... and I am not. It did not occur to me until that moment that facing each other knee to knee would be the mirror she needed to be able to see what to do.
IT WORKED!!! She chained, and chained, and chained... and then she wanted to make flowers like mommy was making. So we made chain flowers:
Maddie's first flower
She was SO proud of herself! :-)
What have you been working on?
