First of course we had Wayne Lapierre completely illogical suggestion that we "Don't Need No Stinking Gun Control" we need more Guns period, arguing that the only thing that stops people with guns - is more people with guns.

That sentiment was of course echoed in somewhat more reasonable sounding terms by the King of Loudmouth Chickenhawk Draft Dodging Blowhards - Ted Nugent - with his Open Letter to Joe Biden..

Then you had the mouthy frothy performance of Alex Jones on Piers Morgan.

Even after all that, nothing - but nothing - could prepare you for the claim by this Floria Professor who claims that "Sandy Hook Might Not Even Happened".  At least not exactly as the media claims - because the Obama Administration WANTED something like this to happen so they could push their Anti-Gun Agenda".

="'t%20happen%2C%20'crisis%20actors'%20may%20have%20been%20employed%20by%20the%20Obama%20administration&" />

Their Paranoia and then there's a Full On Psychotic Snap.

A few days ago Troubadour managed to get some on the right all a flutter with the suggestion that Conservatives are becoming - in aggregrate - Sociopathic.

Well, I think it's not just in aggregate.  I think you can find very specific individuals who fit that profile quite exactly.  People like this guy:

Writing on his Memory Hole blog last month, Professor James Tracy asserted that it was “not unreasonable to suggest the Obama administration [had] complicity or direct oversight of an incident that has in very short order sparked a national debate” on gun control.

“While it sounds like an outrageous claim, one is left to inquire whether the Sandy Hook shooting ever took place—at least in the way law enforcement authorities and the nation’s news media have described,” he declared, noting that no surveillance video of photos of bodies had been released by authorities.

“Moreover, to suggest that [President Barack] Obama is not capable of deploying such techniques to achieve political ends is to similarly place ones faith in image and interpretation above substance and established fact, the exact inclination that in sum has brought America to such an impasse.”

Raw Story (

Yeah because a lack of seeing the bodies of dead 5-year-olds must obviously lead you to think that President Barack Obama would exploit a bloody national tragedy - by not exploiting it - to implement a draconian, repressive national policy that's fits his own agenda of neo-totalitarianism? Who the Frack do you think he is George W. Bush?

But then what else would expect from someone who not only doubts that Oswald alone killed Kennedy - ok, well who doesn't? - but also doubts the official story of the Oklahoma City Bombing, 9-11 and the last years Aurora Shooting?

Even this guys is rational enough to know when to back-peddle his position.

“In terms of saying that Sandy Hook — the Newtown massacre — did not take place, is really an oversimplification of what I actually said,” he explained. “I said that I think that there may very well be elements of that event that are synthetic to some degree, that are somewhat contrived. I think that, overall, the media really did drop the ball. I don’t think that they got to the bottom of some of the things that may have taken place there.”

As for the deaths of 20 elementary children, the professor said, “I think that most likely that took place.”

Uh huh, 20 Children were murdered.  That happened, glad you can admit it - surveillance footage of the bodies or not - but to suggest that Federal Authorities manipulated the media in some way to heighten the outrage in response to this even - but they didn't do it with Aurora, and they didn't do it with Tuscon and they didn't do it with any other of massive shootings that have taken place over the last 5 years?

Sometimes you can't believe where people will go- but they do.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

  •  I freaked out my gun-nut neighbors this afternoon. (12+ / 0-)

They were going on about "the only known way to stop people with guns" being "more people with guns."  I told them I didn't agree with their dumbed-down theory.  Their retort" You got a better idea?"  I replied, "Yes."

"Drones.  Lots and lots of drones, equipped with stand-off missiles. They'll beat the maximum range of anything a gun-nut has by, I'd guess, about 5 miles."

    Pulling chains is my "speciality...."

Proponents of gun violence own guns. Opponents of gun violence do not own guns. What part of this do you not understand?

before the sensitive snowflakes happen upon this diary to cry foul that you're using the insensitive term "gun nut whackjob."

But more to the point, I almost couldn't believe it when I saw Alex Jones lose his freakin' MIND on Piers Morgan.  He appears to have a problem with anger.  And it's scary to think that he's one of those stockpiling to fight against... whatever it is he's fighting against, I have no idea.

In my opinion, there are gun nut whackjobs, and james tracy is one. When it comes to that topic, he's nucking futs!

Also in my opinion, there are liberal nut gun control whackjobs, a few of which have been on here but have been banned. Senilebiker, ramdove, ricardomath. When it came to guns, those folks were nucking futs!

The only point I would make to the diarist about the "use drones" comment is that drones don't see through ceilings.
Even if the person is out in the open, it won't much matter - per my recent experiences with gesture-deciphering software from the xbox kinect I feel safe saying that drones won't be reading gestures to determine threat / no-threat for several years yet.

and not the fun, euphoric kind.

Anyone - particularly any highly entitled, straight white Conservative man - can get angry in an argument hearing things they disagree with or that discomfort them. I think the thing that scared me most about Jone's diatribe is that it wasn't in response to anything - he went from "Hello Piers" to raging, non-stop non-sequitous rambling in about 5 seconds.

And I don't mean this flippantly ("Hey, dude's just crazy!). I say this as someone who actually has Bipolar II (keeping good company with Katherine Zeta-Jones here...). My condition is very well under control with good diet, exercise, sleep and - crucially - medication.

One of the weirder parts of Jones's rant is how often he comes back to the evils of psychiatry - all those "murder suicide pills." Yeah... he is one dude who definitely does not have any problem at all.

A not funny thing is that David Keene, NRA in multiple-question interview (including much dodging) said that some of these shooters should have been stopped when they displayed [craziness].
So, which squads of nra volunteer 'good guys with guns' will assault the bunkers of Alex Jones, James Yeager, Ted Nugent, etc?

Professor Tracy isn't trying to insinuate it never happened, as in children didn't die. He is going for a MIHOP conspiracy, in which it didn't happen in the way we are told it happened. He is suggesting "someone" in authority organized the happenng of it in order to create an atmosphere where the public would be willing to consider giving up some of their 2ndA rights.

BTW - your title goes way over the top, to an extent that it would appear your intent is flame baiting, rather than simply reporting or exploring the fringier arguments on the issue.

Saying that the massacre "most likely" happened does not reflect good reality processing. It happened. He's no better than a right-winger saying that Obama was "most likely" born in Hawaii.

for the prof to insinuate that their children may not have died, or that their deaths were part of some sinister plot. Yikes!  I guess that comes from desperation -- hard-core assault rifle defenders sense they are facing their first real crisis.
