"Our number one agenda is making sure President Obama is a one-term president. Wait, he just got elected. Our number one agenda is making sure President Obama doesn't get anything done in his second term. 1,000 rings go off. Oh sorry, MY number one agenda is making sure Ashley Judd doesn't run in 2014. Why me?
Senator McConnell doesn't know who he's messing with. He doesn't appreciate that a strong, passionate woman can in fact challenge him for re-election.
This in from WDRB.com, based in Kentucky:
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Will she or won't she? That's the question many are asking about Ashley Judd possibly running against Kentucky U-S Senator Mitch McConnell.
Congressman John Yarmuth says he's talked with Judd, who is from Kentucky.
He says the actress is weighing the possibility of running for office.
Yarmuth says he's not interested in the seat, but it's a top priority to find a good candidate to run against McConnell.
And, Judd may be eyeing something other than McConnell's seat.
Yarmuth says, "I think she's very interested in becoming a candidate for some office whether it's next year against Mitch McConnell or it's against Rand Paul whether it's for some other office I don't know, but she's a very serious potential candidate."
Judd hasn't said whether she'll enter the race.
Well, let's voice our opinion on whether or not we think Ashley Judd should challenge the lamest Senate Minority Leader in history. So far, not a single Democrat has emerged from Kentucky to challenge Mitch McConnell.
If Judd runs in 2016 against Sen. Rand Paul, then there's a risk in Democrats losing a big pick up opportunity in 2014 to whoop the GOP hard for what they did to defeat Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle in 2004. If Judd runs in 2014 and wins, it will send shockwaves across Kentucky, the U.S. and give Democrats a new machine they can build from to whip out Rand Paul in 2016. THINK ABOUT IT.
And besides, Judd is a strong progressive. She's got fire in her belly.
No, Mr. Yarmouth, don't you DARE challenge McConnell. We need you to stay in the House so we can beat as many House Republicans for re-election as possible and give Nancy Pelosi back her gavel!
