I'm not going to say much. Jump below the fold, and descend into insanity.  But if you want the big hits:

1.) There was a second shooter. Probably a government official, because witnesses say he was seated in the front of the car.
2.) They claim the medical examiner's report is a lie.
3.) They next claim that all the witnesses are hired actors.
4.) They validate that the witnesses are actors on the basis of 'suspicious' behavior.
5.) They use a terrible photo morphing to claim that Emilie Parker wasn't shot at Sandy Hook, but is seen later with President Obama.
6.) They say that the 'parents' are actors hired from CrisisActors.com
7.) Claims that FEMA was holding drills 20 minutes away in preparation for the tragedy so they could quickly respond.
8.) Finally, they claim Victoria Soto's Facebook tribute was created days before she actually died.

This is from InfoWars, a hotbed of conspiracy theory, so it shouldn't be too surprising. As of this month, 100,000 people have gone to YouTube to see this video. 125,000 people have liked their Facebook page. And Infowars claims their main website gets many of millions of visitors each month, which means there's been a bit of exposure for this video.

It's a shame that this sort of tragedy is being manipulated by The Crazy in order to further their wild conspiracy theories.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

  •  My daughter wanted me to watch this this morning (13+ / 0-)

she was really upset. I debunked just a few things.

    1. the section where they claim Emilie Parker is sitting on Obama's lap AFTER her death is bullshit. There are 3 blond girls in that family, the girl who was killed, and her two little sisters. It was middle sister in the same dress as Emilie was wearing in an earlier family picture. Every family uses hand-me-downs.

    2. the confusion over facts means nothing when a tragedy is unfolding. My daughter called me from Fort Hood during the Major Hasan shooting, it was still unfolding. She told me there were 2 or 3 shooters, and at least one of them went into a gymnasium and was shooting up a graduation ceremony. Of course, we now know this was not true, but those were the "facts" as she knew them at the time. He was also said to be killed, and we know that is not true, either.

    3. a grieving father laughing and smiling before a press conference means nothing. I remember quite a few who were put off by my family, who tends to have a morbid sense of humor, at the laughing and joking at my father's funeral. People deal with grief differently.

    4. A facebook page set up as a fund on the morning of the shooting means nothing. We already know of one person who did so as a fraud.

That's as far as I got. I wasn't interested in caring anymore.

Robert Welch, the guy who called the first meeting for the Birch Society and had 100,000 members, was absolutely convinced that President Eisenhower was a secret communist agent.

Really, this modern video is nothing new.

Did they tell you how Dr. King was also a secret communist agent?

      And Hollywood stars ???

  •  The actor thing is especially silly (7+ / 0-)

It originates with a site called WellAware1, which tries to use photos to make a case that the Phelps, parents who had a child at Sandy Hook (fortunately, unharmed), were really the Sextons, actors from Florida (the wife supposedly popped up as an assistant DA or something after the theater shooting in Colorado).
Thing is, WellAware1 claims just about everyone in the news - politicians, celebrities, etc - are actors, usually tied to the Sexton or Greenburg families. The site also makes the claim that Hitler and Walt Disney were both fake, played by the same actor (Kermit Roosevelt, son of Teddy).
That stuff from this far out in the pine barrens is now circulating through even a fringe of the conservative movement, shows how far they've fallen.

Some conspiracy theories are harmless, the people who insist that the moon landing was faked are pretty much harmless. They consider evidence contradicting the conspiracy to be evidence that the conspiracy is even greater than they had thought.

Some are ugly and dangerous. A couple people I know buy into this conspiracy. The right grows more and more deranged and angry every day.

    Statement from Crisis Actors

    January 14, 2013

We are outraged by Florida Atlantic University Professor James Tracy's deliberate promotion of rumor and innuendo to link Crisis Actors to the Sandy Hook shootings of December 14, 2012. We do not engage our actors in any real-world crisis events, and none of our performances may be presented at any time as a real-world event.

James Tracy copied his material from blogs and YouTube channels that manufacture malicious rumors and false accusations.

It is obvious to James Tracy and FAU that these sites pander to followers who need only rumor and innuendo to carry out a relentless hate attack against the Sandy Hook community as well as Crisis Actors.

These followers' online campaign of threats and defamation continues to this day, and interferes with official investigations into the Newtown tragedy. How can James Tracy and the university shrug off any responsibility for the pain they are causing?
