So, the House Republicans went on retreat to discuss how to fix their image. Things started off VERY badly when...they held their meetings on women and minorities in the Burwell Room. To further prove their misogynistic views of women as second-class citizens, perhaps as three-fifths of a man, Greg Walden (R-Ore)
"had to note that the panel would include several women, whom he identified as "a woman from CNN" and "Sean Duffy's wife."
Nice going, dumbass. Didn't your mother teach you to introduce yourself to ladies, and remember their names? And weren't you the one who said THIS:
Republicans discussed how they can improve the party's standing among women and minorities, who voted decisively with Obama in 2012. "Obviously we've got to address this," said Rep. Greg Walden, R-Ore., who runs the House Republicans' campaign operation for the 2014 elections.

here. Uh, Walden, you're not doing too well.
More self-aggrandizing GOP nonsense below the fold.
“It’s a time for self-reflection,” said one member, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to share details of the private discussions. “Our identity with the American people has really, really suffered, and this is a conversation about collectively restoring a values-driven identity.”
Ah, someone who ISN'T totally clueless, finally. Yes, the GOP's identity HAS "really, really suffered." But, sadly, the reason IS your "values-driven identity." The vast majority of the American public does NOT agree with your "values" when they mean unrestricted assault weapon ownership, Creationism taught in place of science, draconian restrictions on women's rights, attempts to force Christianity into government, schools, and places of employment, or blocking jobs bills, especially the Veteran's Jobs Corps bill, simply to spite the President.
Although there was some urgency for a change, the consensus was that the change was about how to communicate, not about rethinking core policy positions.
No, dummies. No matter how you try to spin them, your core policy positions quite frankly SUCK.
“This is about tone. It’s about messaging and it’s about showing people what we’re for instead of what we’re against,” said Virginia Gov. Robert F. McDonnell (R), describing his message to House Republicans at a lunch-time session Thursday.
We got your message loud and clear, Vaginal Probe. We know exactly what you're FOR: repression of women, forced humiliation, stripping away women's rights, TRAP laws...all making punishment for unplanned pregnancies legal to satisfy your twisted hatred of women. Why, just yesterday,
VA Republicans blocked a repeal of your mandatory ultrasound law.
“Rape is a four-letter word — don’t say it,” the group was advised by a Republican pollster in another session, said one person familiar with the discussion. That was a reference to controversies about rape and abortion that were partly to blame for the GOP losing two Senate seats — in Indiana and Missouri — in November.

Sorry. Nice try. But, emboldened by the glorious defeats of Tea Party wackos Akin and Mourdock, we REALLY want to hear your views on rape and rapists. They're just so...insightful. And...misogynistic, appalling, backwards, and just SICK. Exactly like the party as a whole.
It was fun to read about your indecisive quibbling over the debt ceiling, but I would urge you to remember what happened the LAST time you refused to raise it.
