NRA's Wayne LaPierre gets personal with President Obama in Reno
Jan. 22, 2013 -- rgj.com
“Criminals couldn’t care less about Barack Obama’s so-called principles,” LaPierre said. “They don’t have principles. That is why they are called criminals.”
So Wayne, why don't we repeal the laws against Bank Robbery, and Forgery, and Fraud, and DUI -- "Criminals" don't care about
those prohibitions either.
So why bother?
LaPierre expressed concern that through the president’s gun-control measures, law-abiding residents would get caught up with excessive fees and paperwork and lines “just so a grandfather can give a grandson a Christmas gift.”
You know Wayne, people also drive their vehicles without registration and insurance too,
-- but
eventually they get pulled over, and
eventually they get caught. Some even go to jail.
Besides Wayne, you just can't give your Grandson a car either, not without the right paperwork. And Grandson can't legally drive it, not without his license, registration and insurance. Those are the rules, to promote automobile-safety, to help keep your Grandson alive. His friends too.
LaPierre, Tuesday nite, Reno NV:
“He (Obama) wants to put every private, personal firearms transaction right under the thumb of the federal government, and he wants to keep all of those names in a massive federal registry.
Well actually Wayne, according to those
Executive Actions, he (Obama) wants to put mentally troubled people and felons and terrorists, in a database registry, so that the Background Checking agencies, have
something real and useful, to cross-check against.
Remember the old conservative motto, Wayne: "If you haven't done anything wrong, you don't have anything to worry about, do you?"
“There’s only two reasons for a federal list on gun owners,” LaPierre said,
“to either tax ‘em or take ‘em.”
You know Wayne, there could be another
reason number three: to find out
who's authorized to conceal carry, and who isn't.
There could be a reason number four: to be able to track down exactly who is selling those guns that end up in criminal hands.
There could be a reason number five: to find out who in the neighborhood, has suddenly become better armed than the local police. You know Wayne, keep tabs on those Bank-Robbery, Lone-Gunman, Armageddon types, that you seem to say -- will never change their ways anyways -- So what's the use?
Well Wayne, They all got to get their gear somewhere.
If we start adding up all their receipts in the last year, there might be some use, Wayne. And if they have no receipts, then some gun show dealer is suddenly in a whole lot of trouble. Or some street gun peddler and their suppliers are. But how would we know unless their Guns had the right paperwork -- or NOT?
How would Law-enforcement officers ever know. Who to pull over, and arrest when. If it weren't for that 'evil' Govt List, otherwise known as the Vehicle Registration system?
