I understand that Reid or others are claiming that he lacks the 51 votes to implement the "talking-filibuster" rule change - to require that in future filibusters that those filibustering must maintain the Senate floor and actually continue to talk. This is what racial segregationist (and future Republican hero) South Carolina Senator Strom Thurmond did in 1957 to kill a civil rights bill. [We also know now that he was a rapist - raping the Thurmond family's African-American maid and fathering a child.] Thurmond holds the record for the longest Senate filibuster - he talked for 24 hours straight, even taking bathroom breaks somehow right there on the Senate floor.
Who are the Democratic U.S. Senators who are against this meaningful talking filibuster reform? Name names. Before we contribute to ANY Dem Senators running in 2014, we need to know who was there for filibuster reform - and who helped kill meaningful reform.
