There is an ominous storm on the horizon. At the moment, they are talking about limiting my constitutional right to gun ownership. But it's what is on the horizon that troubles me the most.
You see, I have a need for speed. It is part of life, my liberty, and it is all about my pursuit of happiness. I used to let loose with my horse, riding wild wherever and for however long she could go. Now, I have this automobile, a semi-automatic vehicle I picked up on the cheap at a military auction. Man, does it fly!
I hear talk that they will soon be coming to take that freedom away from me too. No longer, I fear, will I be able to screech around town, burning rubber, and flicking out my beer bottle as is my inalienable right. I hear that they will put a limit on my speed, that they will be installing all kinds of signs and lights to tell me when to slow down, when to stop, and which side of the road I can drive on. Hell, they are even going to designate where I have to put my vehicle when I get out of it.
It gets worse. I will have to get an identity card to continue to drive the vehicle I've already been driving. I will no longer be able to drink while I drive. I mean, what are Sundays for, anyway! There is even talk that there will be an age limit imposed, though that should not be a problem, since we all recognize that manhood begins at 14.
This is tyranny, my fellow citizens. This is the big brother government that our fathers warned about. They won't be imposing the same speed limits on the sheriff, though. And that, my friends, should tell you all you need to know about how this current government views us.
I urge you to stand with me. Do not let them take these cherished freedoms that so many of our families shed blood to obtain in our glorious revolution. We are free men in a limitless land. We must take arms against this storm. Should we sit idly by, what will be next? Mandatory schooling?
Exactly!
Now, where is my assault rifle?
