Baton Rouge, La. -- A 17-year-old boy was fatally shot by a 16-year-old boy as the two played with a gun about 3 p.m. Saturday.
Annapolis, Md. -- A man was fatally shot and a woman critically wounded about 1 a.m. this morning. Police say the shooting might be the result of a domestic dispute.
Seattle, Wash. -- A man entered a bar about 10:15 p.m. last night and shot his 25-year-old ex-girlfriend and an employee in his 30s who tried to intervene. More than two-dozen patrons were in the bar when the man opened fire. Police responded and shot the gunman, killing him, when he fired at officers. The two victims are expected to recover.
Little Rock, Ark. -- The 15-year-old daughter of a 38-year-old man found him dead at home from a single gunshot around noon yesterday. The girl ran to a neighbor who called police. The man’s missing pick-up truck was found abandoned a few hours later.
Rouzerville, Penn.-- A 50-year-old former police officer used a handgun to shoot and kill his 45-year-old wife and wound her 18-year-old son before killing himself around 5:30 p.m. last Tuesday.
St. Louis, Mo. -- A 52-year-old man was found fatally shot in the head and upper body in a vacant lot about 8 a.m. Saturday.
St. Louis, Mo. -- A 26-year-old man was found fatally shot in the chest and neck in a vacant lot about 8:30 p.m. Friday. A man with a rifle was seen in a car fleeing the scene.
Columbus, Ga. -- A 33-year-old man was found dead in his living room from multiple gunshot wounds on Sunday afternoon. Police are investigating.
West Chester, Penn. -- A 24-year-old man was fatally shot while sitting in a car late Friday night.
Houston, Tex. -- A 28-year-old man was fatally shot and three people, ages 20 to 26, were wounded after two gunmen entered a home and fired multiple shots about 6:30 p.m. Saturday. Two of the wounded victims were listed in stable condition, the third was in critical condition.
Philadelphia, Penn. -- A man believed to be in his mid-20s to late 30s was fatally shot while on a street about 6:15 p.m. yesterday. A 22-year-old was wounded during the incident and was listed in critical condition after suffering a single shot in the chest and two shots in the arm.
Colton, Calif. -- A 34-year-old man was found fatally shot outside a bar around 1 a.m. Friday. The shooter is still at large and police are trying to determine if there was an altercation of some sort before the shooting.
Glen Burnie, Md. -- A 26-year-old man was found fatally shot and stabbed in a wooded area around 4 a.m. Sunday. Three suspects have been arrested.
Waterbury, Conn. -- A 26-year-old man was shot in the back and an 18-year-old man was shot in the ankle around 9:30 p.m. yesterday. Both were expected to survive.
Plymouth, Minn. -- A man accidentally shot himself in the leg when his gun discharged after he dropped it while in the restroom of a grocery store about 4:30 p.m. yesterday. His injury is considered non-life threatening.
Trenton, N.J. -- A woman shot twice outside a housing complex around 3 p.m. Sunday was likely caught in a crossfire of bullets fired by several men seen running from the area. No report on the woman’s condition.
Decatur, Ga. -- Three teenagers between the ages of 16 and 19 were shot at a house party about 12:30 a.m. yesterday. The incident was connected to a fight that started in the house. The injuries were not life-threatening. A neighbor said 50 to 60 shots were fired and at least one of them went through a wall in her house and hit a pillow.
Covington, Ga. -- Shots fired at a house party about 2 a.m. yesterday injured a woman and a security guard hired for the event. The woman was shot in the leg and the guard was hit in the arm. The injuries were considered non-life-threatening. Police say about 30 guests were at an adult birthday party when two uninvited guests arrived. A disturbance broke out and shots were fired by multiple shooters yet to be determined.
Penn Hills, Penn. -- Overnight Friday, two men -- one with a handgun; the other with an assault-type rifle -- burst into a home with a dozen people inside, including a 3-year-old girl. The man with the rifle fired several rounds up a staircase while the man with the handgun fired it until empty, then he reloaded and continued firing. No one in the house was directly hit, although one person was treated for a fragment wound in the arm. The gunmen fled the house after one of them was shot in the face, possible inadvertently by his partner, and the other one accidentally shot himself in the thigh.
Fort Lauderdale, Fla. -- Shots were fire at a popular rap artist and his girlfriend as he drove his car about 5:30 a.m. today, causing him to crash the vehicle into a building. Witnesses say dozens of shots were fired, some of then hitting nearby stores, but none hit the car. No one was reported injured.
Chicago, Ill. -- A 17-year-old boy was shot in the leg and foot while standing on a sidewalk shortly after midnight this morning. His condition at a local hospital was reported as stabilized.
Chicago, Ill. -- A 44-year-old man was shot in the leg while on a street about 8:40 a.m. yesterday. He is reported in good condition.
Orlando, Fla. -- A man was shot in the leg this morning in a possible home invasion robbery about 7 a.m. today. His injuries were non-life-threatening.

Drummons, Tenn. -- A 31-year-old woman was found dead from a gunshot wound in her home about 1 p.m. Friday. A 5-year-old child in the home was unharmed. Police want to find and question the victim's 40-year-old husband.
Center Township, Penn. -- In an apparent murder-suicide, a 45-year-old woman was found fatally shot outside her home, and her 49-year-old husband was found inside the home, dead from a self-inflicted shotgun wound. Police suspect the woman was putting personal items in her car and about to leave when he fired a shotgun, striking her in the head and upper torso.
Swissvale, Penn. -- Someone was shot about 10:45 p.m. yesterday. Homicide staff were at the scene, but no word yet on the victim's condition.
Queens, N.Y. -- A 20-year-old man was found dead in the basement of an apartment complex about 6 p.m. yesterday. He had been shot in the head.

Menlo Park, Calif. -- A 2-year-old boy sitting in his mother’s lap in a car was shot in the legs and a bullet grazed his head when someone in a passing car fired as many as 11 rounds from a handgun about 7:45 p.m. yesterday. The mother was also hit in the legs. Their injuries were not considered life-threatening. Four other people in the car were not injured.
Washington, D.C. -- Five people were shot at a nightclub about 2:30 a.m. today. The shooter, a male, apparently left the club after getting into an altercation of some sort, but returned moments later and opened fire from the door. Four men and one woman were wounded. One man was shot in the eye. The injuries were considered non life-threatening.
Sandy Springs, Ga. -- A man yesterday was shot several times in the leg and another person suffered a graze wound.
Milwaukee, Wis. -- A 31-year-old man was shot in the chest about 9 p.m. yesterday after he went outside his home to investigate the sound of gunshots. Police have two men in custody. No word on the condition of the victim.
Oakland, Calif. -- A shooting about 10:40 p.m. last night sent three people to the hospital with non-life threatening wounds. Police are looking for more than one suspect.

Charenton, La. -- A tribal police officer was fatally shot and two sheriff's deputies critically wounded today when they responded to a fire at a home and encountered gunfire there from an unidentified man. The alleged shooter was arrested. No word on the condition of the wounded deputies.
Hammond, La. -- A 23-year-old male graduate student at a local university was found shot to death in his apartment about 2:15 p.m. today.
St. Louis, Mo. -- About 4:50 p.m. yesterday, a 28-year-old man was fatally shot and three men wounded as the four of them drove in a car after leaving a post-funeral meal for a man shot and killed about two weeks ago. Police say the shots yesterday came from a vehicle with perhaps four men inside. They think one of the suspects had an AK-47 rifle. Those wounded were expected to survive.
Polk County, Ore. -- Police have determined that a woman found dead in a vehicle at a park-and-ride lot about 12:15 p.m. Thursday had died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
New Orleans, La. -- A 22-year-old man was fatally shot and a 20-year-old man wounded around 8 p.m. yesterday. The two were walking near an abandoned lot when a gunman approached and opened fire, hitting both men multiple times. The condition of the 20-year-old was not known.
Chicago, Ill. -- In what police have called a domestic-related shooting, a 50-year-old man was found shot in front of his home about 3 p.m. yesterday. He later died at a hospital. One person is in custody.
Riverview, Fla. -- Police found an 18-year-old woman shot dead in a home about 11 p.m. last night. They are interviewing her 17-year-old boyfriend and 16-year-old brother, who both live in the home.
Oakland, Calif. -- A police officer was shot in the leg while chasing a suspect around 5:30 p.m. yesterday. Despite the wound, the officer followed the gunman until he surrendered two blocks away. The officer is expected to fully recover.
Butte, Mont. -- A 23-year-old woman was shot during a robbery attempt at a taxi office about 7:20 p.m. Thursday. The woman fled the office when the gunman entered, but the intruder fired several shots at her as she ran down a street, hitting her three times. She was listed in stable condition.

Rialto, Calif. -- A 47-year-old man -- the boys basketball coach at a local high school -- was shot about 8 p.m. Monday during an attempted robbery at a rest stop. He was confronted by three men demanding his wallet and one of the men shot him several times in the chest. The gunmen fled leaving the wallet behind. The victim is listed in fair condition.
Jacksonville, Fla. -- Police say two occupied homes were hit with bullets when more than 15 shots were fired in a neighborhood about 9:30 p.m. yesterday. No one was injured.
Memphis, Tenn. -- Two teenagers, ages 15 and 17, were found shot at a community-center parking lot shortly after 2:35 p.m. yesterday. Both were hospitalized in critical condition.
Orlando, Fla. -- A 15-year-old boy was shot in his lower back while riding a bicycle about 7 p.m. yesterday. Polices say the gunshot probably came from a passing car. No report on the victim’s condition.
Inkster, Mich. -- A third-grade student bought a loaded semiautomatic handgun to school in his backpack yesterday because he was being bullied. The school principal was tipped off about 8:30 a.m. yesterday that the boy was on his way to school with the gun and officials were able to meet him at the front entrance. The gun belongs to a member of the boy’s family.

Monitor Township, Mich. -- A 51-year-old man and a 48-year-old woman were found shot to death inside a home about 3:45 p.m. Wednesday. The two were engaged to be married. Police suspect a murder-suicide.
Clayton County, Ga. -- A taxi driver was found fatally shot inside his cab at a condominium complex about 1:30 a.m. this morning.
Denver, Col. -- Police called to an apartment complex about 5:50 a.m. yesterday found a woman shot dead and a man with multiple stab-wounds. The man is in a local hospital. Investigators are not looking for any suspects.
Washington, D.C. -- An 18-year-old woman was found fatally shot in the head around 3:30 a.m. today. She was lying on the sidewalk in front of a bus stop.
Clearwater, Fla. -- A male and female were found dead from gunshot wounds at an apartment complex Thursday. A neighbor said she thought the man was in his 40s and the woman in her 30s. Another neighbor was told by police that they suspect a murder-suicide.
Madison, Wis. -- Police say a 34-year-old man was found dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound at his home hours after they discovered his 31-year-old estranged wife was the victim of a homicide. Police suspect a murder-suicide. The couple’s divorce was scheduled to be finalized today.
New Orleans, La. -- Police say the 25-year-old owner of an auto-repair shop was likely justified when he fatally shot a 28-year-old man who had made threats and pointed a pistol at him. The victim had come to the shop with a friend who was having a dispute of some sort with the owner about repair work recently done on the friend’s car.
Dayton, Ohio -- A 34-year-old man fatally shot his 32-year-old ex-girlfriend and a 29-year -old man at an apartment early Thursday. The woman’s 10-year-old son saw the shooting and ran to a neighbor’s house to call 911. The suspect was later arrested.
Charlotte, N.C. -- One person was shot and killed about 5:45 a.m. today.
Laveen, Ariz. -- A 41-year-old man and his girlfriend were found dead inside a home following a several-hours-long standoff with police yesterday morning. Nine shots were fired during the incident, none by police. They are not looking for any suspects.
Camden, N.J. -- An 11-year-old girl was shot in the face by her 27-year-old father in her home about 9:30 p.m. yesterday. The father then tried to shoot a 28-year-old man who was also in the house, but the gun jammed. The man managed to get the gun and fire it at the father, hitting him in the buttocks. The father fled on foot but was later arrested. The girl is in critical but stable condition at a local hospital.
Akron, Ohio -- A 59-year-old woman driving her car was shot in the shoulder. The incident happened after she came upon two men walking in a street and she flashed her headlights at them as a warning she was coming. The men moved to the side of the street but, as she drove past, one of them shot at her several times. Her injuries do not appear to be life threatening.
Vancouver, Wash. -- A man was shot more than once inside an apartment after an intruder entered it about 1 a.m. this morning. The victim and occupants of the apartment managed to get out. Police are looking for the suspect.
Oakland, Calif. -- A gunman opened fire on a man pumping gas at a service station about 11 a.m. today, missing the man but hitting his car and a city bus a block away, showering the passengers with broken glass. A woman pumping gas at the time also had her car hit.
Miami, Fla. -- A mother of two was shot in the face during a robbery outside a restaurant about 5:30 p.m. yesterday. A 20-year-old man has been arrested. The woman said the suspect approached at gunpoint and demanded her purse. When she handed it over, the suspect shot her and fled on foot. The woman is in stable condition.
Miami Gardens, Fla. -- A 26-year-old man was shot in the shoulder while sitting on bench waiting for a bus about 8:15 p.m. yesterday. He was in stable condition.
Trenton, N.J. -- Shots were fired and a man was hit in the arm in front of a convenience store about 1 p.m. today. The man was gone when police arrived. They will be checking local hospitals.
St. Paul, Minn. -- A 51-year-old man threatened his 15-year-old daughter by pointing an AK-47 rifle at her because the girl’s school report-card included two B's rather than straight A's. He also pointed the gun at his wife during the incident, which occurred January 17, but has just come to light. The father said the gun wasn't loaded and he had checked the chamber beforehand.
Salt Lake City, Utah -- No one was injured when a guard for a private security firm accidentally discharged his weapon about noon Sunday while working at the main public library downtown. The gun went off when the guard was in a first-floor security office and before the library was opened to the public. The bullet went through two walls and embedded in a third.

Kansas City, Mo. -- A 93-year-old man shot and killed and his 95-year-old wife before attempting unsuccessfully to take his own life with a knife about 7 a.m. yesterday. The couple had been arguing. The man is in serious but stable condition. He has been charged with second-degree murder.
Seminole, Texas -- After a two-hour standoff, police found a man dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. The incident began as a domestic disturbance between the man and his wife in their house.
Atlanta, Ga. -- A 25-year-old man was fatally shot about 12:45 a.m. Wednesday. The incident started with a fist fight between two groups Tuesday night. The fight broke up, but the groups met again a few house later and a shot was fired striking the victim in the back and head.
Chicago, Ill. -- A 35-year-old man who was shot on a street shortly after 6 p.m. last night was pronounced dead about four hours later at a local hospital. Police say two men exited a vehicle and one of them opened fire, hitting the victim at least five times.
Joliet, Ill. -- A 24-year-old man was fatally shot outside his house and a 23-year-old man was seriously wounded as they were getting into a car about 6:15 p.m. Tuesday. They were struck by bullets fired from a passing vehicle.
Trenton, N.J. -- A man was found fatally shot in the head inside a home about 7:30 p.m. yesterday.
Clare County, Mich. -- A 68-year-old man was found fatally shot in his home last Friday. A 32-year-old woman was in custody.

Syracuse, NY -- The 77-year-old baseball coach at a college preparatory school was shot about 7:30 p.m. yesterday during a holdup at a liquor store that has been part of the man’s family for more than 60 years. He was shot in the eye and is listed in serious condition.
Pittsburgh, Penn. -- A man apparently attempting to rob a home was shot and killed about 6 p.m. yesterday. A young man who lived at the home answered a knock at the door to see a masked man holding a gun. When the young man tried to close the door, the gunman fired a shot through the door, grazing the resident in the head. A friend of the resident then grabbed his own gun and shot the masked man.
Fountain, Col. -- A 3-year-old boy accidentally shot himself in the foot after finding a handgun in the bedroom of his parents.
Birmingham, Ala. -- A 20-year-old man was shot in the head as he drove along a street about 5 p.m. yesterday. He is expected to survive.

That prompted police to search his route in hopes of finding the gun, but the effort was unsuccessful. Yesterday, the man contacted police to say he found the gun between some couch cushions in his home.
Augusta, Kan. -- A couple who operated a combined gun store and beauty shop pleaded guilty to federal firearms violations yesterday. The man, 51-years-old, pleaded guilty to one count of dealing firearms without a license; his 42-year old wife pleaded guilty to one count of failing to keep records of firearms transactions.

Akron, Oh. -- A 4-year-old boy in a car is dead after suffering from a gunshot wound. About 9:30 this morning, a male motorist flagged down a sheriff’s deputy to say his 4-year-old son had been shot in the head. It appeared that the bullet was fired from inside the car and that it exited the through the roof.
Kansas City, Mo. -- A 4-year-old girl has died after she was accidentally shot in the head by another child earlier this month. The girl's father told police he owned the gun and forgot that he left it in the living room.
Savannah, Ga. -- A 21-year-old woman -- a student at a local college -- was shot to death in her car outside her apartment around 7 p.m. Monday. She was found lying on the ground next to the vehicle.
Humphreys County, Tenn. -- Police say an elementary school principal and her husband were shot before a fire razed their home on January 16. A third victim at the scene has not yet been identified, but authorities believe it is the couples son. A gun was found at the scene. Police do not suspect an outside party was involved in the shooting and fire.
Savannah, Ga. -- A 17-year-old boy was shot and killed in front of a house about 6:45 p.m. last night. He was shot multiple times.
Hapeville, Ga. -- A man arriving home with his girlfriend was shot and killed about 9:45 p.m. yesterday. The couple was approached by two suspects who got out of a vehicle and attempted to rob them.

Rocky River, Ohio — A 39-year-old man was fatally shot about 10 p.m. yesterday. A 43-year-old friend he was walking with was wounded. Police say the incident occurred when a car passed by them and words were exchanged between the two men and the occupants in the car. The car proceeded down the street before turning around and returning. Shots were then fired from the car, striking the men.
Nashville, Tenn. -- A man with a pistol in his hand was found dead of an apparent suicide in his car in the parking lot of the FBI office Tuesday morning.
Forestville, Md. -- Police found a 21-year-old man dead from an apparent gunshot wound about 3 a.m. Monday.
Newbold, Wis. -- After he was pursued by a sheriff’s deputy, a man stopped his car before stepping out and turning a gun on himself. The man died at the scene about 11 p.m. Monday. Family members had earlier been concerned about the man’s safety and asked the sheriff's department to look for the man’s car.
Carlsbad, N.M. -- A bullet fired in a drive-by shooting wounded a 6-year-old girl as she slept in bed about 3:45 a.m. Monday. Two 14-year-old boys and a 17-year-old male were arrested yesterday for firing a .45-caliber handgun at several houses in the neighborhood.
New Orleans, La. -- A 17-year-old boy standing at a bus stop was shot in the leg about 9:30 p.m. yesterday after a car approached and the occupants opened fire. The victim’s injuries were not considered life-threatening.
SeaTac, Wash. -- A young man was shot in the back while playing video games in an apartment after at least three gunshots were fired from outside the building about 10 p.m. last night. Police suspect the shots came from a high-powered firearm because the bullets passed through several walls before entering the boy’s apartment. He is expected to recover.
Memphis, Tenn. -- A man told his 87-year-old mother that he was going to kill her, then he pointed an assault rifle at her and pulled the trigger, but the gun jammed and did not fire. Police arrested him.

Houston, Texas -- A clerk -- a 69-year-old man -- was shot in the leg during a robbery at a convenience store about 10:10 p.m. last night. The injury is considered non life-threatening
Oklahoma City, Ok. -- An employee of a used-car dealership was shot after he confronted someone acting suspiciously about 8 a.m. today. The victim’s condition was not known.
Little Rock Ark. -- Police found a 33-year-old woman in her residence with two gunshot wounds to the leg.
Wallace, Idaho -- After pleaded guilty to firing two shots at a helicopter because it was flying too close to where he was hunting, a 58-year-old man has been sentenced to at least a year in prison. Both shots hit the aircraft, one of them striking the steering mechanism. The pilot, who was flying to monitor controlled burns in the area, was able to land the helicopter safely. The shooter said he had been drinking prior to the shooting.

Bolder City, Nev. -- A Las Vegas police officer apparently shot himself after killing his wife and child and setting their home on fire. Three bodies, one of them a little boy, were recovered after the fire was extinguished.
Sharon, Penn. -- A 17-year-old boy was shot in the chest at a house about 12:07 a.m. Sunday. He died at a hospital about two hours later. A 19-year-old male has been arrested. Police say as many as 20 people were in the house at the time of the shooting.
Park Hills, Mo. -- Two people are dead at a home after a man shot another man and then turned the gun on himself about 2 a.m. Sunday. Police believe a woman witnessed the shootings.
Oklahoma City, Ok. -- A man who was house sitting was found shot to death inside the house about 1:25 a.m. this morning.
Trenton, N.J. -- A 35-year-old man was shot and killed yesterday afternoon outside an apartment complex.
Houston, Texas -- A man died at a local hospital after he was shot at a home about 10 p.m. last night.
Connell, Wash. -- A 30-year-old man was fatally shot at a home Thursday night. Police are looking for the ex-husband of the victim’s girlfriend.
Birmingham, Ala. -- A man reported as shot in the January 20th edition of this diary was later pronounce dead.
Prince George’s County, Md. -- A 16-year-old boy was shot and killed early Sunday as he walked from a house to a car. A woman who lives on the block said there had been a loud party at the house.
Antioch, Calif. -- A 36-year-old man was found shot to death about 6 a.m. today. His body was lying on a sidewalk, next to a bicycle.
Oak Hills, W.Va. -- An 46-year-old man was found dead in an apartment on Monday.
El Sereno, Calif. -- A 27-year-old man was fatally shot while buying food from a taco truck about 10 p.m. Saturday. The victim got into an argument with another man who then left and later returned to shoot the victim several times before fleeing in a car.
Prince George’s County, Md. -- A 21-year-old man was found dead on a street from an apparent gunshot wound about 3 a.m. yesterday.
Thomasville, N.C. -- A 38-year-old man was found shot to death in his home Saturday night. Police have identified a person of interest but no charges have yet been filed.
Brentwood, Calif. -- Four teenagers, ranging in age from 13 to 16, were wounded in a drive-by shooting about 6 p.m. yesterday. The boys were standing on a sidewalk in front of a home when they were hit by bullets from a passing car. All four are expected to survive.
Spring Hill, Kan. -- A woman told police she accidentally shot herself in the face about 9:45 a.m. today. She was not seriously injured. Another person at the home fled from police.
North Harris County, Texas -- Several people were shot at a community college about 12:30 p.m. today. Witnesses say two males were arguing when one of them pulled a gun and opened fire. At least three people were wounded, including one of the men involved in the argument. More than 10,000 students were at the campus at the time of the shooting.
Minot, N.D. -- A 31-year-old man was arrested on an attempted murder charge for shooting his roommate after they argued Sunday night.
New Haven, Conn. -- Police were at the scene of a shooting that occurred just before 11:15 a.m. this morning.

Seattle, Wash. -- A male on a street was shot in the stomach about 3 a.m. this morning. No report on the condition of the victim.
Memphis, Tenn. -- A man and woman were shot about 7:20 p.m. yesterday. The woman was in critical condition; the man in non-critical condition.
Montgomery, Ala. -- A woman was shot in the chest at a motel about 11:10 a.m. this morning. She was with two men when one of them shot her. She is listed in stable condition at a local hospital.

Queens, NY -- A 25-year-old Connecticut man heading for a vacation in Cancun with his girlfriend was arrested at JFK Airport yesterday for allegedly carrying a loaded semiautomatic handgun in his backpack. It had one round in its chamber and up to seven more in the magazine. The man said he has a carry permit for Connecticut and he brings the gun to work for protection.
Orlando, Fla. -- A 51-year-old man was arrested yesterday after TSA officers found a loaded .32-caliber Beretta handgun in his carry-on luggage. The man told police he forgot the gun was in his bag.
Spanish Fork, Utah -- A man was jailed after allegedly firing six shots into another driver’s car during a road rage incident about 8:30 p.m. Friday. The shots missed the intended victim.
Big Beaver, Penn. -- A man drove alongside another motorist about 6:30 a.m. on Saturday and fired shots at him, missing the intended victim. Police say the shooting was related to an ongoing feud between the two men.
