Mosquito season normally runs from May through October with peak activity happening in August (reference: http://www.rowlett.com/...) but this year... well, I've already found mosquito larvae in samples from one pond and I'm pretty sure this isn't the only pond with them. We've had another warmer than usual winter (reference: http://stateimpact.npr.org/...) and a lot of recent rains. So the overwintering mosquitoes are out and making whoopie with each other.
This will be bad news for beekeepers and organic farmers.
I've come up with one idea that I passed along to the beekeepers and to Audubon. Hopefully it will help.
