So you think the campaign is over at last,

We've had the election, that's all in the past.

Obama's the guy and Congress is there,

But a few little things, still hang in the air.

You thought they'd just vanish, you sorry old sot,

Millions 'pon millions were thrown in the pot!

With SuperPACs and Non-profits-no-tax, so much is the same with a different dark hat.

Five-oh-one see four and five-oh-one see that-- it's hard to see anything when you're blind as a bat!

They've got skin in the game and the money keeps coming,

To do other fun things, like knock him out of the running,

With ads and campaigns, all over they're showing.

Why stop at elections, just keep the tap flowing!

It's a battle royale, with money quite savage.

So choose your side in Democracy's ravage.

With names so pleasant and pleasing to hear,

The money barrage continues all year!

Post-election conversion, Obama has had,

That shadowy money's not really so bad!

We promise we'll tell you who's giving us dough,

Our intentions are pure, unlike Karl Rove!

What could ever go wrong, now break out the champagne,

You've all been drafted to the Permanent Campaign!

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

is ruining our government, not that there was much left to ruin.

Democratic Leaders must be very clear they stand with the working class of our country. Democrats must hold the line in demanding that deficit reduction is done fairly -- not on the backs of the elderly, the sick, children and the poor.

can be turned into a near traitor by chickenhawk money.  Hagel is probably coming to realize that he more than correct to leave the Senate.  He's too good for the place.
As for me, I have staked out where and what I will purchase so as to avoid enriching the 1% who just use consumer money to beat up on consumers.

  •  Nice Try.. purposefully misrepresenting Nat Review (0+ / 0-)

Clearly you're just searching for some angle to criticize... that's NOT what National Review said ..

But using your own standard .. YOU accused Ronald Reagan of cheating on his wife !!  He knocked up some woman in Chicago who gave birf to Bill Ayers!!  .. no evidence whatsoever to make this patently false, bold claim... only that Reagan lived in Chicago... typical Progressive.. Nice!!

an  education and training organization.  If it works the way it's supposed to, it won't be so much an invitation to join a permanent campaign for office as a vehicle for regular folks to stay involved in politics after the elections are over.  This is something everyone, including Mark Fiore, should welcome.

If the general public wants to enjoy a life made easier and more rewarding, they need to understand that the fat cats in the finance, insurance, real estate, pharmaceutical, export, etc. industries stay active in politics all year round, year in and year out.  They make their wishes known by lobbying members of congress regardless of the party in power; they donate money and time to campaigns; they write articles, deliver speeches, join networks of like-minded individuals and businesses - in other words, they stay involved and active.

Just showing up to vote every two to four years will not get the people what they want, even if what they want is shared by the majority of the country.  The Organize for America plan is giving the people an opportunity to form a group larger and more powerful than any lobbying firm on K Street, any group on Wall Street, any Chamber of Commerce or herd of gun owners, or any "grass roots" organization put together and financed by the Koch Brothers or Pete Peterson or anyone else.

"In this world of sin and sorrow there is always something to be thankful for; as for me, I rejoice that I am not a Republican." - H. L. Mencken
