With the decision of Scott Brown not to run for John Kerry's Senate seat (apparently the work was too hard - you know he had to read all those bills and he wants to run for Governor in 2014) in the special June election, the Massachusetts Republican Party is scrambling for a candidate to run against Ed Markey.
Now, it's been revealed among the people they've approached for this Senate seat, are Ann Romney and/or Tagg Romney. I guess they believe that even though Mitt lost Massachusetts to President Obama, didn't run for a 2nd term as Governor partly because polls showed that voters were dissatisfied with his tenure as Governor and he would lose bigtime, that either Ann or Tagg would have a better chance.
Ann would have to move back into her son's basement and I don't think that would go over well for voters and Tagg has never ran for any political office and is totally unknown in Mass politics.
With Dems holding a large majority of registered voters in Massachusettts, what the heck would make the Massachusetts Republican Party think that Democrats will switch their votes from a Democratic candidate to either of the Romney's? Oh, there are several others, including former Governor Bill Weld, that they're looking at, but the idea that they would even consider Ann or Tagg is laughable.
