The Atlanta Journal-Constitution mentions that Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed has essentially bowed out of the 2014 Senate race to replace Saxby Chambliss, the scumbag who smeared a war hero(Max Cleland). Reed told MSNBC:
“I just focused on being mayor. There are some terrific candidates out there. I think Congressman John Barrow would be terrific. I also think Peter Aman, my former COO would be terrific as well. I’m going to keep being mayor.”
The Journal-Constitution also notes that Aman currently works for Bain & Company, which is the company that Mitt Romney helped found. I'm sorry but we don't need as Bain "Democrats" running.
John Barrow is similarly a very bad idea. He's an NRA poster-boy, he voted against Obamacare and he's anti-choice. He's a fucking Blue Dog who is only good for voting for Nancy Pelosi. And the Democratic base is not going to support a guy who voted against ACES(aka Waxman-Markey) and who co-sponsored the piece of shit called SOPA.
I will stick to my stated belief that Scott Holcomb or Jason Carter remains our best shot in Georgia. Former Governor Roy Barnes would be acceptable to me as he has fought against Voter ID and he fought successfully to get the Confederate flag off the Georgia state flag. But I would have to look at Barnes more in depth to see if the base would support Barnes.
