This shocking article about a Texas church holding concealed guns carry classes comes courtesy of my Tea Party Facebook acquaintance.
She's becoming, as I said in my previous post, more rabid by the day.
This is what she "liked":
The Rev. Brad Foster, senior pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church in Dumas, took the adage, “the Lord helps those who help themselves,” to heart with an offer to hold firearm safety classes at church facilities so parishioners can obtain concealed carry permits, the Amarillo Globe-News reported.
So why is the reverend doing this? Because he wants to protect the Second Amendment, of course!
And what does Jesus think about this?
From the Biblical perspective, we are especially interested as men to be protectors of innocents. Jesus has a special place in his heart for children and innocents, and that’s an important role we have to play
What I fail to comprehend is how the "conservative" article writer can write all this nonsense and be serious about it. Honestly, it reads like a joke to me. Bill Maher could have written the last two sentences:
Until now, Dumas has been primarily known for the old Phil Baxter tune, “I’m a Ding Dong Daddy from Dumas.”
Now it will be known for reviving the patriotic Frank Loesser song, “Praise the Lord and Pass the Ammunition.”
In my opinion, the writer, the pastor and his flock are all
Ding Dong.
