In a dramatic move, that matches the recently announced resignation of the reigning pope, a spokesman for the Roman Catholic Conclave of Cardinals tweeted that the Conclave will forgo a formal election of Pope by secret ballot in favor of a High Stakes BINGO game among the Cardinals in the Sistine Chapel.
The tweet was followed by a new Facebook page “RCHighStakesBINGO” that signaled a new tone for a new church with no fears of doing things new and differently: ‘‘What’s More Traditionally Catholic than BINGO?’ was the big question posted on the page. In addition to the new approach and new rules, the Sistine Chapel will be fitted out like a Catholic Grammar School basement, replete with smoking and hawkers selling Bingo cards. And Cardinals may tweet the results as the games go on.
