Received this email from Congressman and U.S. Senate candidate, Ed Markey (D. MA-5), who is gathering signatures for his petition to urge congress to protect net neutrality:
Everyone is equal on the Internet.
No special interest group, no corporation, no one has the right to block what lawful content you can access on the Internet. It’s an open forum for communication, competition, and innovation -- a truly free frontier.
This core principle - net neutrality - is what has made the Internet a level playing field for all. That’s how it’s always been -- and that’s how it should always be.
But some big corporations want to throw up roadblocks on the information superhighway. They want to be able to prioritize some content over other content, and even charge tolls if you want to access certain sites.
We can’t let that happen. Sign my petition to protect openness on the Internet -- defend net neutrality today:

Right now, we're at a crossroads. The Internet will continue to evolve in the months and years ahead.
We can choose the path of net neutrality, and protect the freedom the Internet embodies. Or we can do nothing, and allow big corporations to use the Internet to pad their bottom lines.
The choice is clear -- we must take action to protect net neutrality. Add your name, and help me protect an open Internet today!

The Internet must remain a breeding ground for innovation and new ideas. I'm looking forward to bringing my defense of net neutrality to the Senate. And I'm grateful to have you with me.
Thank you.
Ed

And as a way of saying thanks to Markey for standing up for net neutrality, how about donating to his campaign so he can beat Conservative Democrat, Stephen Lynch, in the primary and win the special election replace outgoing Senator and new Secretary of State, John Kerry (D):
