Harry Reid has undermined President Obama, Elizabeth Warren, Military people, and us hardworking Americans in need of the progressive society it should be.

He made strong statements saying he was wrong to undermine Merkley and Udall. Udall said Reid has his back. Reid changed his mind and backstabbed them. He got mad that Merkley made it clear that Reid needed to be pushed for filibuster reform. The fact that making our voices heard makes Reid and other "dinos" really angry shows that they are thorns to the American people.

Reid admitted "he is not personally ready to change the filibuster" recently. He lied there were 51 votes or he had 51 votes but he did not want to respect our wishes. He lied that we would not do a handshake agreement again.

Richard Cordray will have a hard time. Gun legislation will be undermined. Harry Reid has not been supportive of President Obama's gun violence reduction efforts. He is in the pocket of the NRA.

It is going to be a big long-term project to get money out of politics and make the senate a better place. The old guard still lingers and it is not pretty.

Obama had said the filibuster is a huge problem and has called for up and down votes  on nominees such as judicial appointments. Reid did not honor all that.

I really hope that when we get Nancy Pelosi back (whether in 2014 or 2016), we will have enough new senators (through republican pickups ) and perhaps we can retire some old guards to get 51 votes for true filibuster reform for genuine and comprehensive progressive agendas under our next Democratic president. Hopefully we will get there just in time so we can easily appoint scalia's successor and/or kennedy's successor.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
