Senator Kay Hagan (D. NC) is sick and tired of the House Republicans stalling on passing the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA):
The statistics are chilling: Three women are killed by their husbands or boyfriends every day. And nearly one in five women have been sexually-assaulted.
Failing to protect these women is inexcusable. That’s why I voted for the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), which we passed in the Senate this week with bipartisan support.
Now, the fate of millions of women across the country rests with House Republicans who, during the last Congress, let VAWA expire for the first time in 20 years.
But this time, they’re not going to get away with it. Tell House Republicans that you won’t stand for petty politics when so many women’s lives are at stake. Help us reach 100,000 strong in our fight to protect women’s lives.

VAWA is at the heart of our nation’s efforts to fight domestic violence. It provides resources for battered women to seek shelter and legal protection, it reduces the number of domestic homicides and it addresses the high rates of dating violence.
In short, it’s one of the cornerstones of our country’s efforts to combat violence against women. Each day that goes by without VAWA puts more women in jeopardy.
