I'm not yet convinced Obama gonna stand the line he drew in his two recent speeches, the Inaugural and SoTU.  But, it sure would be sumpthin' if he did!  Wouldn't it?!
Meanwhile, the KochBros, Petersen and ALEC worshipers all about kicking some Librul ass.
The question is, What Are You Going to Do About It?
Yes, you!  As per tmservo433's diary you're being called out!
Sure, we won the election - yay! - but the TeaPubs control 38 state houses, many of which
about to kill Roe v. Wade, are changing Electoral dynamics, about to kill Unions, about to
tear up many of those 22 constitutional amendments - except The Second - and on and on.

The question stands.  Just WTF are you going to do about it?
That's Bud's question every week on our 'Jibber Your Jabber' radio show.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

You can add a private note to this diary when hotlisting it:
Are you sure you want to remove this diary from your hotlist?
Are you sure you want to remove your recommendation? You can only recommend a diary once, so you will not be able to re-recommend it afterwards.

  •  Well, I wonder about this. (0+ / 0-)

I mean, this is clearly unconstitutional interposition / nullification as I see it.

But to someone who believes that the second amendment protects a "state's right [sic]" to arm its own militia, wouldn't states be free to do exactly this provided that the weapons went exclusively to Title 10 militia members?

I mean, it's bullshit, but wouldn't this bullshit be necessarily consistent with the collective right bullshit?

the purpose of the second amendment is to promote a well-regulated militia, in the same sense that the purpose of the first amendment is to promote a well-informed electorate.

I'd like to see Brady or some organization step up in this lawsuit and say "Yes, that's exactly what the second amendment was intended to do, allow states to arm their own militia, and thus they are indeed free to ignore any federal law, or hell just some hypothetical federal law, that might interfere with the arming of a state militia."

But no, they know their bullshit is bullshit.  They'll never defend any interpretation of the second amendment that has any legal weight at all.

  •  200000 precincts strategy--love it! (0+ / 0-)

It's really weird, prior to the election, I used to fire off the occasional angry call or correspondence to my teabagger reps.  Since the election, I'm represented by entirely democrats (and mostly decent ones) up and down the ticket--mayor, county commissioner, state and US rep, state and US senator, governor, state attorney general, secretary of state....you name the office representing me and a democrat sits in it.  It's great, but often they're already on the record as supporting a number of issues I would have written them about in the past!

I mean, I could contact teabagger reps from another district, but if they ignore their own constituents, I can't imagine they give a shit about hearing from someone in another district or state.
