Iran's official Fars News Agency
reported on Saturday that Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) Ground Force has conducted tests in which it successfully brought down a hypothetical foreign surveillance drone during a military exercise.
Other official Iranian media outlets subsequently confirmed the downing of a hypothetical aircraft.
General Hamid Sarkheili told reporters that IRGC drones are now monitoring the moves of the hypothetical enemy, while electronic warfare units are wiretapping hypothetical enemy communications.
This success follows close upon the heels, of course, of Iran's most celebrated technical achievement, sending a monkey into orbit that morphed into an entirely different monkey upon re-entry.
In other news, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has announced his next official state visit will be to the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, where he is expected to discuss a possible trade agreement with King Friday XIII.
