Daily Kos Radio's Kagro in the Morning show podcasts are now available through iTunes.

This just in: I've just been informed that it is not Friday yet, but is actually Thursday. So my plan to wing it today and coast into the weekend has been foiled. Instead, I will wing it and coast into winging it tomorrow, after which I will coast into the weekend.

In the meantime, we'll have some things to talk about. Greg Dworkin will join us, and he's got news. Meaning he was actually in it. The news, I mean.

Justice Scalia yelled at everybody and said he hated the Voting Rights Act, because freedom and can't we all just get along now, or something. Bob Woodward thinks he's going to be killed by a drone. Robert Bork reminds us from beyond the grave what it really meant to be Nixonian. And I've learned that the real reason you need 30-round magazines is... in case you're attacked by a shark.

Wish I was kidding. About any of that, really. Except the Greg part.

We're LIVE at 9 a.m. ET with Kagro in the Morning, thanks to

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

David, great performance on Australian TV.  What the hell time did you have to get up to be on down-under prime time?

Its a shame that the US media doesn't take as much interest in how the US government works as the Australian media does.

Anyway, great appearance and I'm glad to see you get a plug in for DailyKos and the Kagro podcast!

luckily for the rest of us.

of course, he spends all his waking hours rewiring his home, but that's another story for another day.

      •  Just watched the segment. It's a shame they (0+ / 0-)

didn't ask David to join the discussion with the prior guest on gun control.  In my opinion this guy is definitely pushing a prison industrial complex agenda.  He must have mentioned additional resources for prison expansion at least four times during the interview.

He didn't mention that part of the proposal of the Obama administration is strengthening penalties for straw purchases and gun trafficking, something with which, I'm sure he agrees.
David could have also enlightened him about the numerous failures of gun owners  to "prevent" crime.

Is Australian TV aware of David's new sideline as a compiler of "gun failures" in the U.S.?

        •  Chas knows. (0+ / 0-)

He commented on it on Twitter. But it was the other guy's turn, and I was there for the filibuster.

It certainly could happen at some point in the future that I end up on their show talking about that instead.

          •  Good. I love your show on Kos Radio and listen (0+ / 0-)

almost every day (technology permitting.)  I now live in western PA, which is a frequent source of "gun failures" as you know.  The frequency and variety of these occurrences would be amusing if they weren't so often tragic.  Thanks for bringing them to light.

I especially like the perspective you and Dr. Dworkin bring to this issue.  Let us know if you're on this show again.  I found it both hosts very well informed compared to many in our media.

      •  You are a gracious host, the soul of hospitality (0+ / 0-)

but you tend toward the calm, knowing type.
Armando has taken his lumps lately with his
discussion on legally fixing the Imperial Presidency
and I fear he's taken some of the raucous, gratuitous comments way too seriously (sometime from his abrupt severe tone).  As a listener, I frankly relish his hot sauce in a jaded political world with no morals and therefore no outrage. A certain amount of confidence is
required to pull outrage off but practice makes perfect. Also
you two have terrific on-air chemistry.
I add that technical difficulties continue to be the greatest obstacle for DKos Radio IMO.

        •  Armando is at Kos World Headquarters right now. (0+ / 0-)

Lobbying for investment in the next generation of Daily Kos Radio! Or whatever the equivalent would be, in Cheeto-dollars.

          •  Okay, I'll bite. (0+ / 0-)

            How do I lobby?
            Cheeto-dollars...yeah, clear as mud.
I remember the time I went to a pep rally for my Dem Senator who I like. Midway through, there was a call for
folks to come to another' meeting with the candidate' and rube that I am I tagged along. I was clear after about 10 seconds that the real point was for the attendees to write some big checks
at which point I had to excuse myself having left my
Giant Checkbook in my Giant Pants.
Is this what you are alluding to?

  •  I listened to yesterday's podcast (0+ / 0-)

and the quality of the sound was great, nothing like what I listened to online using the link on the front page of DK.  I did find that you come over with less sound, David, than Greg.  I still can't say for sure if what I listened to online was the podcast I heard.

By the way, your explanation of the two GOP ideas in the Senate and the way they are filibusting the DEM one idea was very informative.  Thanks for the clear explanation.

    •  We're having a little trouble with ShoutCast (0+ / 0-)

It's an outside vendor that Netroots Radio uses for its live streaming, and apparently there's something in particular going wrong over the past day or so.

But truthfully, it's not the most robust platform in the world. Usually people have found playing the stream easier and clearer through iTunes, Stitcher, TuneIn and other apps, though I understand iTunes was a little wonky today, too.

Greg's just got a fuller voice, I think. And that headphone mic picks him up pretty well. Now that I think about it, I could also do a little tweaking on the volume levels for Skype, which we use to get Greg's voice on the air.

      •  If you had gene robinson on (0+ / 0-)

he prolly wouldn't even need a mic.
