Keystone and the Lies to America
Since the Republicans in Congress won't give the REAL Reason for there love and desire for Keystone XL, I'll connect the dots for you.
For those of you who don't know, the majority of the Canadian Tar Sand Rights belong to China. Why? Because China has a lot of money and NO EPA for auto pollution standards. Dot Number One.
If these Tar Sands were destined for US Consumption then why not build a super refinery on the Eastern Plains of Montana versus piping it all the way to Houston? Again the reason is clearly obvious, because there will be Chinese Super Tankers (65 new ones) waiting in the Gulf to get THEIR Tar Sand. Since the Widening of the Panama Canal will be completed in 2014 it will be crucial for Keystone to be completed by then so that that new fleet of Chinese Super Tankers can load the Tar Sand. Dot Number Two.
So WHY do the Republicans support Keystone XL with such heated passion? Jobs? Well if You Believe Trans Canada THEIR Job numbers are huge, but then there is the TRUE Impact to the Jobs Market which does not paint a very rosy picture about "Keystone XL Jobs."
Isn't it an odd coincidence that George Bush, an Oil Man, and his little pack of minions fabricated this WMD's and Osama Bin Laden Iraq Fairy Tale for justification to invade Iraq, an Oil Rich Country, and the Bankroll for this little incursion came from where? China! After all, Oil is now to the highest bidder around the world and the USA uses it's bloated Military Might for it's bidding and China uses its Financial Might for its bidding. So China buys its way into the Canadian Tar Sand, knowing full well that the US EPA is going to have a problem with Tar Sands since they are so filthy dirty.
So the US uses it's Military Might to try and control the Middle East and of course we know that Iran is now in the cross-hairs and Israel is the pawn to strategically play for justification to go into Iran. Of course this explains why Republicans are SO Supportive of Israel because Israel is the tool and mechanism to launch a war into Iran, (WMD's Part Two). Oh and by the way, 90+ percent of Republicans could not give a shit about Israel, Israelis, and the Jewish religion. Dot Number Three.
So, George Bush got his war in Iraq funded by the Chinese, but what did the Chinese get as the return favor for George Bush and the Republicans? You mean to tell me You have not connected the final Dot? Well it's quite evident, The Republicans are giving the Chinese that Keystone XL Pipeline so that they can get "THEIR" Dirty Tar Sand from Canada into their Super Tankers that will be waiting at the Port of Houston.
Do You STILL Think Keystone XL is Good for America? If You Do, You're a Fool!
Some Tar Sand Facts
Not only is the Canadian Tar Sands the dirtiest of crude oils, but it uses huge amounts of fossil fuel to actually produce it...
It takes about 34 cubic metres (1,200 cubic feet) of natural gas to produce one barrel of bitumen from in situ projects and about 20 cubic metres (700 cubic feet) for integrated projects. Currently, the oil sands industry uses about 21 million cubic metres (0.7 billion cubic feet) per day of purchased gas, or about five percent of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin production. By 2015, this increases to about 60 million cubic metres (2.1 billion cubic feet) per day, or nearly 12 percent, assuming gas production remains at 482 million cubic metres (17 billion cubic feet) per day.
I'll bet you thought that as crude oil supplies dwindled our savior would be Natural Gas. Well the Canadian Tar Sands will make certain that won't happen as it would not be far after crude is gone before all the Natural Gas will be gone. But, there is something worse if you didn't think it could get worse...
How much water is required to produce one cubic metre of oil from the oil sands?
The water requirement ranges from 2 to 4.5 cubic metres of water to produce one cubic metre of synthetic crude oil in a mining operation. Mining operations use surface water and recycled water.
In SAGD operations, although 90 to 95 percent of the water used for steam to recover bitumen is reused, every cubic metre of bitumen produced still requires about 0.2 cubic metres of additional groundwater. Some surface water is used but most operations use fresh and saline groundwater.
That is just currently, notice that there is no projection to future water requirements like they did for Natural Gas, but one could only imagine given the projections on the Natural Gas.
Don't Despair... At least the US will get 20 full time jobs out of this Keystone XL Deal!
